Our Prophet (pbuh) says: “There will be no such unity after me. The Islamic community will be fragmented.” That is destiny, in other words. Allah will create it like that. “But there will be unification in the End Times, in the time of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh), in other words, of the King Messiah,” he says. We have now entered that time. The intermediate times are now over. Our Prophet (pbuh) says there will be division along these lines in this time. That appears in the Qur’an, too. Our Prophet (pbuh) complains that “My community do not abide by this Qur’an.” Allah says, “those who divide up their religion and form into sects,” That is a verse from the Qur’an. These things have happened. Our Prophet (pbuh) described all the parts in detail. He even said, “there will be a time of despotic rulers.” That time is also over. This is now the time of peace. Had it been different, what our Prophet (pbuh) said should have turned out wrong. But the fact that what our Prophet (pbuh) said has come true shows that our Prophet (pbuh) is right and what he talked about is a miracle. The Qur’an also says this is how it will be. That is set out in the Qur’an. The faith will be impaired after our Prophet (pbuh). But the King Messiah, Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh), will come to put that right. Otherwise Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) would not come, the King Messiah would not come. The reason for his coming is to put right this seemingly irreparable, very difficult-seeming damage. We believe that Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) has now come. We believe that the King Messiah, Shiloh, has come and that we are now in his age. We see this when we look at the Torah and when we look at the hadiths.

The worst error in Iran, the worst error in Iranian belief, is that of the disappearing Mahdi. In other words, they speak of a phantom Mahdi who will not be seen for around a thousand years. Yet Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) is a normal human being born of a mother and a father. Like normal prophets and guides, he will live for a specific length of time. He will have a childhood, and a youth. He is not a phantom who lives for a thousand years. Iran may be a nuclear threat. It is therefore a danger in this regard. I am emphasizing that. Because there are beliefs that Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) may appear as a light, or that he may be seen anywhere as the image of a face or that he may be seen as a corporeal form or else heard in the form of a voice. This is of course a grave risk. If, for example, the Iranian chief of the General Staff says, “I heard the voice of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) and he told me to destroy such and such a country”… In other words, he now has either to oppose Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) or else do what he says. And since he cannot oppose him, he must do what he says. So he will press the button. Whichever the country is, it will be destroyed. That is what comes to mind. I am describing the erroneous nature of that belief. It is a very grave error, of course. I am striving to that end. As for Iran’s making a nuclear threat, well, I cannot say it is impossible, of course. It could happen under those circumstances. But not if they abandon that belief. If they believe that Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) is a normal person born to a mother and a father. Because Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) is just an ordinary, compassionate, affectionate human being. But people refer to him as an image. “I heard his voice,” someone says. That is very dangerous. It reveals a schizophrenic character. People hear voices when they have schizophrenia. So that is of course a danger. But could they go so far as to launch a nuclear bomb? That radar base, part of NATO, is being built in Malatya precisely because there is such a risk. It will use a technology that will make it possible to intercept missiles in mid-air, before they reach their target, if Iran were to take such a step. So there will be no question of Israel or any other country suffering a nuclear attack. Turkey has behaved very well on this. It has behaved very warmly, and has thus shown its love of and protection toward Israel. Turkey signed up to this missile shield project, despite all the risks, in such a way as to protect Israel in particular. The NATO facilities will be built in Malatya, in Turkey’s own territory. So from now on it will be impossible for Europe or Israel to be under any kind of nuclear threat. That is technically inconceivable. 

Until Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) appears and enters the equation, there will be radical elements or people who interpret Islam according to their own lights and regard it as a ruthless faith that favors violence. Some will kill and maim, some will be suicide bombers and others will engage in all kinds of madness, like Saddam. There may be thousands of different kinds of crazies and psychopaths. This can emerge from any religion, not just from Islam. But Allah shows us in all respects how Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) is the solution. That is the reason why Allah concentrates so much on the Messiah, Mashiach, in the Torah and regards him as so important, why He concentrates on Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh). There is no other solution now. There can be no other solution than Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh). The King Messiah, or Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh), is also the solution to Afghanistan and many other mistaken policies.

Two forces are in an intellectual clash in the world. Believers in Allah and the supporters of the dajjal [antichrist]. In other words, the supporters of the antichrist and the supporters of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) are currently engaged in an intense struggle. What are the supporters of the dajjal, the antichrist, doing? They are attacking the Jews and trying to rip off their skull caps. They are setting about burning Christian churches. They are bombing Muslim mosques and tearing down their minarets. They mock Jews, Christians and Muslims. That is why there is this intense ideological struggle between the hordes of the dajjal and believers, the supporters of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh). But the way of the Mahdi will emerge victorious from that struggle, through peace, love, brotherhood, learning, science, democracy and art. We will all see this together. We will all act together. Devout Christians, Jews and Muslims will collaborate. Then Jews and Christians will be able to worship in freedom. Nobody will be able to molest what is sacred to them, or to Muslims. Irreligious people and atheists will also enjoy complete security. They will all be valued and

It is very important for Muslims to love one another with a crazed fervor. The way of the Mahdi will bestow that on us. Look, the missile system is currently being installed in Turkey. But what point is there in missiles if we have Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh), my brother? It is being set up against Iran. Who or where could Iran use missiles against in the presence of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh)? That is out of the question. We can see the great need for Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) from that. The missile shield system will be set up in Turkey now with the expenditure of billions of dollars. To protect the region. Not just Turkey, but the whole region. Against whom? Against Muslim Iran. So much for Muslims being brothers. So much for a collective personality resolving the issue. That means there is an urgent need for Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh). Can we see the need for him? What need for missiles of a defense system if we have Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh)? The money spent on that will be spent on giving good food to the poor. You can hand out fridges and washing machines, cars and drugs and houses. And every one of the missiles installed costs who knows how many trillions. Iran is also making preparations. But if we had Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) the matter would be resolved comprehensively.

Our country and people are most excellent. But their unity and unison needs to assume the form of a crazy love; it cannot just be something peripheral. For example, this missile shield system against Iran baffles me. Iran is still talking about a phantom Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh). Look, if you talk about a phantom you are going to alarm people. Because nobody knows what a phantom will do next. It [phantom] will also establish a missile system. And who knows what other systems besides? Because you are talking about a phantom. You say, “He is waiting inside a well.” You are saying; “He will emerge from the well and become the leader of Muslims. And he will shed rivers of blood.” That is not a rational thing to say. They are doing terrible damage to Islam. They must put an end to this idea of a phantom. The truth is the Sunni interpretation of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh). Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) is a human being, born to a mother and a father, someone full of love. He is against bloodshed. They keep showing films filled with bloodshed. They are screened all over Europe. Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) shedding rivers of blood. They made a film about that. What you are talking about is the dajjal [antichrist], not Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh). The dajjal sheds blood. Floods of blood. Turkey is setting up the missile defense system, having it set up, since it is alarmed by the way of the dajjal. And of course they are worried by this in Europe. But if they follow Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) this scourge will disappear. Otherwise the situation is not at all a pleasant one. Muslims will never follow a phantom. They will follow Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh). How can they follow a phantom? “He has emerged from the well,” they will say. “Follow him. In the form of a ray of light,” they will say. Someone will say, “I saw him and this is what he said.” What are we to do or say to him then? He will say, “He told us to shed rivers of blood.” That is out of the question. Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) is a man of compassion, of affection, of friendship and brotherhood. He is an entity who will eliminate blood and bile. There will be no bloodshed in the time of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh).

The Saudi regime is weak, like a house of cards. The system will collapse in the slightest puff of wind. Saudi Arabia is the feeblest regime in the region. It is run by Wahhabis. There are sensible, enlightened people among them, including members of the Royal family. Their hearts are open to the way of the Mahdi, but they want to see that strength first. I sincerely believe that they will surrender the moment they see it, and I possess knowledge on that subject. It would be enough for Iran and Turkey alone to unite on the way of the Mahdi. Just those two alone. There is no need for Egypt and Palestine. The whole issue is one of unity, of alliance on this. That is why, if there are members of the Islamic scholars in Iran who are not extreme, who are sincere and fear Allah, who fear Him and not the public, we can talk to them. We cannot talk to people who fear the public. There are also sensible scholars in Turkey. There are enlightened, honest Muslims, there are secret guides. Let us bring them together and talk and form an alliance on the way of the Mahdi. Let us look at the hadiths of the Messenger of Allah (pbuh). Has the time come? Have the portents come about? If so, then Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) has come. So let us trust in Allah and the Prophet (pbuh) and form an alliance and follow Hazrat Mahdi and his way. If Turkey and Iran come to an agreement, Zionism will be as quiet as a lamb. The Wahhabis will fall apart and peace and brotherhood will come to the world. Zionism will not suffer in the time of the way of the Mahdi. The Jews will also be at ease. That is in the hadiths. Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will govern the Jews with the original of the Torah. And Christians with the original of the Gospel. The whole question is one of sincerely believing in the way of the Mahdi. If people do not sincerely believe, Allah sends tribulations and troubles and sets Muslims against one another. They are then divided into different groups and sects and are run ragged by demagoguery. Allah wants us to trust in a single brain and mind and to follow Muhammad the Mahdi. "If you follow him I will give you peace and goodness,” He says. We must come together and talk and watch it come true. You will see whether it comes true or not. It will happen straight away. It is not complicated. Weakness of faith leads to weakness of mind. And weakness of mind leads to lack of strength and feebleness. But if Muslims trust in Allah and believe in the words of the Prophet (pbuh), if they follow the way of the Mahdi, if just Turkey and Iran come to an agreement, then the whole world will be saved. That is crystal clear. I believe that Ahmadinejad is very sincere. Let them send us some rational and honest people, a group not made up of fanatics. But there is one major condition here, they must be people who fear Allah, not the public, who seek His approval and not that of the public. Let them send people like that, Shiites and Jafris and people who love the Mahdi. I am inviting them here. Guides and teachers and people who love Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) are ready here in Turkey. If we all come together, then Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will appear as clear as day. He will easily be recognized. Turkey and Iran are two super powers. If Iran agrees, Pakistan will immediately do so. Iraq and Syria and Jordan will sign up right away. If Turkey says yes, then so immediately will Egypt. All the Sunnis in the region will agree. Morocco, Tunisia and Algeria will all go along. There is nothing hard or complicated in this. Let us just trust in Allah and it will be done. Ahmadinejad is very sincere, but he needs support. There are people around trying to trip him up. People who seek public approval and not that of Allah. The leader needs to be protected from them. Then you will see how the way opens up. Israel will embrace Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh). They are also awaiting Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh). They are awaiting him under the name of Shiloh, the Messiah. If the friends of Allah all come together, they will find Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh). But if Muslims do not do that, then they are accepting the status quo. In other words, if they do not heed the words of the Prophet (pbuh), then they are putting up with oppression. Who can they trust if they do not trust the Messenger of Allah (pbuh)? The word of the Prophet of Allah is the word of Allah. If they say, “I do not trust him,” then they do not trust Allah. And there is nothing else to talk about. If they trust in Allah, He bestows happiness. “But if that does not happen?”, they say. My brother, there is no question of that. This leads to a sick mind saying “What if there is no Allah, no Hereafter?” [May Allah forbid!] Muslims must trust in Allah. If I say that Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) has come, then he has come. The End Times have come about. I would not speak so forthrightly if I were not certain. And when Muslims decide on this, when Turkey and Iran decide on it on behalf of Muslims, then an age of peace and well-being and beauty will dawn. In a very short space of time. The whole question is one of there being people who genuinely fear Allah, not fanatics. The matter will come to an end the moment that happens. This will be the century of Islam. You will see, insha’Allah. But we need to embrace natural causes for this to happen.

Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will give advice, and has no need to be given advice himself. In other words, there can be no question of someone else guiding Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) with good advice. Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will guide people through his own advice.

The appearance of people opposed to the way of the Mahdi is one of the signs of the coming of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh). If they were sure that Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) had appeared, they would not feel the need to oppose the way of the Mahdi. These are words spoken in panic because they know the way of the Mahdi has appeared. The words of those opposed to the way of the Mahdi show that a sign of the way of the Mahdi have come about, and this will further encourage the enthusiasm of Muslims.

Hazrat Mahdi (as) is a guide and servant. He is a guardian and servant sent to people by Allah. Just as the prophets that have come in the past as the Qur’an tells. If imams [religious leaders] who strove on the path of Allah have come, if these are described, he is a more blessed and immaculate servant even than them. Allah sends Hazrat Mahdi (as), a servant, as the last guide in the End Times, the greatest guide of all time. Since he will come in the most intense period of the End Times his rank will be very high. Because he will have to strive separately against hypocrites and against unbelievers and the way of the dajjal [antichrist] and the way of the sufyan. Darwinism, materialism and perverse movements and thoughts. The armies of satan and iblis [devil] will be directed against him in that disordered environment. Hypocrites and fanatics will oppose him with all their might. That is why his rank will be very high. Because it is very difficult. Bediüzzaman says, “he requires patience and fortitude.” “Otherwise he will remain barren and do harm,” he says. He will wage a powerful struggle since he has great fortitude and faith. Allah will open the way before him, insha’Allah. But our Shiite and Jafari brothers are in a huge error regarding Hazrat Mahdi (as). They have made a huge mistake. If they put that right then Islamic Union can easily rule the world. Then we will have Islamic Union. 

Allah created us as brothers. We are descended from the Prophet Adam (as) and Hazrat Eve (as). The world is also a fine place. For one thing, what need is there to get rid of Israel from the region? I fail to understand that. “Get out and stay out,” they say. “Go where you like, but go.” Where are they to go to? They are chased away wherever they go. They go to Spain and are told to get out. Where are they supposed to go? All their forefethers’ are buried there. All their ancestors lived there. Let them live there, too. Is there not enough land for all? The issue there is for Israel to trust and turn itself over to the Turkish-Islamic Union. Those borders must be lifted. Completely. The walls must be done away with. The whole region must live as it wishes. There is no need for borders. Let them settle where they like. Nobody has a problem with that. Let them entrust their lives and property to Muslims and then they can relax. There are just a handful of Jews. But the land goes on for ever. It is boundless. They could lose themselves in it. Jews are the equivalent of an apple in a football stadium in terms of the room they take up. Do what you like. It is all yours. Build factories or do what you like. Let there be no war or conflict. Let us open up all the Palestinian borders. Let the whole region be theirs to use as they will. Let us open up Jerusalem and rebuild the Masjid of Solomon. Let them live in peace and happiness. Why cause trouble? But Israel must surrender to Hazrat Mahdi (as). To the King Messiah. If they do not do that, they are declaring war on the Torah and opposing its commandments. And that, in their faith, is a great crime. It is a great crime under their law. They must surrender to and trust in the King Messiah, Hazrat Mahdi (as). And the matter will be resolved entirely.

The love of Hazrat Mahdi (as) is very strong in Shiism. It is much more intense and stronger than in Sunni belief. The account given in Sunni belief is fine and rational, but calmer. But in Shiism it is completely translated into reality. They talk about Hazrat Mahdi (as) day and night. Every day, they pray to Allah for Him to send Hazrat Mahdi (as). Every day, at every prayer. The Mahdi is always on the agenda in Shiite belief. But nonsensical beliefs have been allowed to enter as part of Allah’s test. But that is for the best, of course. Allah may perhaps have done such a thing in order to conceal Hazrat Mahdi (as), to draw a spiritual veil over him. But they must eliminate that nonsense when the time comes. Hazrat Mahdi (as) is not in a cave. He will be born into the world from a mother and father. He will disappear twice. I think he will enter prison or else conceal himself of his own will. Our Prophet (saas) says that “he is like the Prophet Joseph (as),” that he has the same rank as the Prophet Joseph (as). It implies that Hazrat Mahdi (as) will go to prison, insha’Allah.

The system of the Mahdi is a system that eliminates oppression. It does away with guns and bloodshed. It does away with everything that can be used in shedding blood. It is anti-bloodshed. What sheds blood? Swords. So he eliminates them. Bullets. He eliminates those. Artillery. What good is artillery? It kills people. So Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) has it melted down. “Melt it down,” he says. And they say, “But what if these people turn to extremes?” “We have the Qur’an,” says Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh). “We will put them right with the Qur’an and love, not with police and guns,” he says. Love is the greatest weapon of all. The whole world will be quiet as a lamb in the time of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh). That is also in the Torah, insha’Allah. The lion will lie down with the lamb. Tigers and savage animals and scorpions and snakes will all become tame and lose their venom. That is what this means – the elimination of guns and bullets and bombs and every deadly thing. The Torah describes that at length. The Torah dates back 3000 years, and has described it all down to the finest detail, how guns will be eradicated. It actually speaks of swords, of course, and weapons used for shedding blood. The Torah does not, of course, speak of tanks and artillery. They will all be done away with, and peace will come. “In doing this, Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will do it through Allah, not through his own power.” Look, not through strength or power. It says he will do it through love. We are in that age, that time now, insha’Allah.

Hazrat Ali said the following about the titles of Hazrat Mahdi (as); 

“His providing a shelter,” a place of refuge in other words, “is broader than all of you providing a shelter;

In other words, he is saying that no matter how much you strive you can never have a shelter like him. Such are the opportunities he will provide for you.

His knowledge will be greater than that of all of you;

Because he will have secret knowledge. Knowledge from the mind of Allah.

His relations with relatives will be greater than that of all of you...

In other words, his relations with those he loves will be much stronger.

“How I long to see him,” says Hazrat Ali. Since he is his descendant. 

Imam Sadik said;

How can this Ummah (Islamic community) deny that just as Allah treated Hazrat Joseph (as) He will treat His own Hujjat (evidence) [that is Hazrat Mahdi (as)] and his [Hazrat Mahdi’s (as)] strolling around the market and setting foot in fairs  [without being recognized] until Allah makes him appear!

He will be just like the Prophet Joseph (as). The Prophet Joseph’s (as) brothers failed to recognize him. In the same way, they will fail to recognize Hazrat Mahdi (as). “Hazrat Mahdi (as) will move through the marketplaces. He will travel about. Hazrat Mahdi (as) will look them in the eye. And they will look Hazrat Mahdi (as) in the eye, but will fail to recognize him,” he says. The Prophet Joseph’s (as) brothers failed to recognize him. Eventually they even asked, “Are you Joseph?” They were unable to place him.

Imam Sadik said;

“People will seek their own imam. Yet Hazrat Mahdi (as) will participate in the pilgrimage ceremonies in the pilgrimage season, and they will see him. But they will be unable to see him.”  Insha’Allah.

 Hazrat Mahdi (as) will also go on the hajj.

Hazrat Ali, the lion of Allah, said;

“Hazrat Mahdi (as) will enter Jerusalem and will pray with the people as their imam... Jesus (as) will also pray behind him and swear allegiance to him.”

Imam Sadik said;

“When the Mahdi appears he will wear the robes of Hazrat Ali and will act on the basis of his virtues.” 

In other words, he will be just like Hazrat Ali. Hazrat Mahdi’s (as) virtues will be reminiscent of those of Hazrat Ali. He will be descended from him, and will of course resemble him, his forebear.

Hazrat Ali said;

“... He (Hazrat Mahdi (as)) will place his hand on his servants’ heads. In this way, the hearts of all believers will be stronger than iron.” 

In other words, Hazrat Mahdi (as) will touch those whom he loves with his own hand.

He says they will be stronger than iron.

That spiritual electricity from Hazrat Mahdi (as) will cure them, insha’Allah.

“and Almighty Allah will give him the strength of forty people.”

“They will become very strong people,” Allah says.

Imam Sadik said: “Hazrat Mahdi (as) will expose the hidden aspects of what every people does, and will distinguish friend from foe with his insight.”  

In other words, he will report the true facts. He has a great ability to receive news. He may receive news from his friends in the djinn. Like the Prophet Solomon (as). We cannot know.

And will distinguish friend from foe with his insight.”

“He will recognize them when he looks in their eyes,” he says.

He says, “Hazrat Mahdi (as) will analyze states.” He will analyze what is true and false and mistaken about them.

This belief in the invisible, phantom Mahdi is a grave danger. In this position, Turkey needs to build the missile shield system and everything else. Because what do they say? “Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will come when you desire him, sincerely, when you pray, he will come as a visible image and as a voice.” Now, think of the man at the head of the Iranian missile system. If he says, “I saw an image of the Mahdi on the wall,” how can we say, “no you did not”? The teacher speaks of his being invisible. “His voice can be heard, and he will speak with you.” If that man then says, “He began speaking…” The image may then say; “By Allah’s command, you must destroy Turkey. You must destroy Saudi Arabia. If you follow me. Since I am the Mahdi, you must obey my commands. So press the button.” The man will still be reluctant. “I am the Mahdi, press that button,” he will say. “This is the Mahdi’s command,” he will say. Then missiles will rain down on people’s heads. This is a huge danger and corruption. A danger for the West and everyone, and a danger for Turkey. They must abandon this right away. Let us join forces to forestall that disaster. Our Iranian brothers must perform a very sincere analysis of this, for Allah’s sake. Iran cannot just ignore it. This is not a matter of Turkey against Iran. It is a precautionary measure against an erroneous belief. The state is taking precautions against a major threat, and that is all. There is nothing about it to prevent Islamic Union. The true Mahdi (pbuh) will eliminate this false way of the Mahdi. Because false mahdis will appear before the true Mahdi (pbuh). The phantom mahdi is also a false mahdi. A phantom, a mahdi opposed to the true Mahdi (pbuh). The Mahdi who is a collective personality is also a phantom. But a harmless phantom. Because the first involves someone saying, “I heard a voice.” That is a huge threat. But this other one is an idea of a mahdi shared by millions of people. It is a dead system actually, but one that cannot harm anyone.

Aaron is also a name referred to in prayer in Judaism. He also appears in freemasonry. “Aaron had that scented oil, that essential oil, running down from his head to his beard, and from there to his collar.”’ But there is of course a secret code being given there, and we will look at that later on, insha’Allah. “Perfumed oil will run from his head to his beard, and from his beard to his collar,” it days, insha’Allah.

The Messenger of Allah (saas) says this about the activities of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh), “He is he who provides the most shelter, who possesses the highest knowledge and does the most good for his relatives.” [al-Ghaybah al-Numani]

He is in constant contact with the people who are close to him, with those who love him. He is also the greatest guide there has ever been. Our Prophet (saas) is the greatest prophet, and he is the greatest guide. Almighty Allah reveals to our Prophet (saas) in the hadiths; “he is superior to some prophets and superior to the People of Israel.” “He is superior to the Companions,” he says of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh). Neither Hazrat Abu Bakr nor Hazrat Umar nor any of them can be superior to him, to Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh), insha’Allah.

“HIS (HAZRAT MAHDI’S (pbuh)) PRESENCE IS A BLESSING; HIS RULE IS YET ANOTHER BLESSING.” [Sharh al-Tajrid, Sheikh al-Tusi, p. 389 (Iran edition)]

Since there will be no bureaucratic entanglement in his administration, since he will be sincere, genuine and full of love and affection, his every command, every action and every attitude will be welcomed by people. Because it will be compatible with human nature. There will be nothing artificial. He will be natural and excellent. And he will bring with him plenty and abundance, goodness and beauty.

 (In answer to the question, “Why will Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) not be married?”)

How do I know? Bediüzzaman Said Nursi never married, as you know. Jesus the Messiah (pbuh) was not married. He never married for his 30 years. Insha’Allah. Hazrat Maryam (pbuh) was not married. I mean, he could marry; it is all a matter of a person’s will. Animals have no free will. But human beings do. They use their intelligence. They act in line with the Qur’an. Physical desires are easy. It is not as hard to control them as people think. My apologies, but foolish people rather exaggerate it. What are earthly passions? Someone shoots someone else. ”I followed my desires,” he says. He has actually gone along with satan. Someone commits and armed robbery and says, “Satan tempted me.” He just followed his earthly desires. Those desires go hand in hand with satan. Insha’Allah. The hadith says that “Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will have no children.” It does not say he will not marry. Just that he will have no children. It says he will have no children and no descendants. That is what we are told. One account says, “All the imams will have a child to continue their line.” “But the last spiritual teacher, Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will have no children,” he says. Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will have no children. That is a precaution of Allah’s, because the Day of Reckoning is imminent. Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) not being married and not having children are separate matters. That is what I gather from that. I understand it to mean he will not be married, insha’Allah.

 From the hadiths of our Prophet (pbuh):

“Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will go to Jerusalem,” he says in a hadith. That is in destiny.  “He will maintain his struggle until people return to the truth.”( Ibn Hajar al-Haythami, Al-Qawl al-Mukhtasar fi `Alamat al-Mahdi al-Muntadhar, p.23) He says he will constantly preach the word. What is the truth? Allah. “A caliph will appear from my Ummah in the End Times (a spiritual leader of Muslims), and he will distribute many goods without even counting them.” (Ibn Hajar al-Haythami, Al-Qawl al-Mukhtasar fi `Alamat al-Mahdi al-Muntadhar, p. 23) No writing it all down in ledgers, but giving it away by the handful, masha’Allah.

In the time of the Prophet (pbuh), the families of the Companions gave their children no peace for being with the Prophet (pbuh). Hazrat Ali (pbuh) was very young, around 11. The families attacked their children. They beat and swore at and tried to kill them. But these young people had a huge love for our Prophet (pbuh). They all abandoned their families and joined our Prophet (pbuh). Some families loved and respected our Prophet (pbuh). They also followed our Prophet (pbuh) as whole families. But Hazrat Ali (pbuh) and many other young companions were forced to migrate and leave their families. That is also the case with the Companions of the Cave in the Qur’an. They were made up of young people. They abandoned their families because of their pressure, persecution and strategies aimed at bringing them to heel, and sought refuge in a cave. Allah so praises those young people in the Qur’an that it appears the followers of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) that it indicates the followers of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will be just like them. He says “the Companions of the Cave are the helpers of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh).” What does that mean? The followers of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will be like the Companions of the Cave. They will leave their families. Their families will persecute them. They will try to turn them from their faith. Allah says in one verse that “for if they find out about you they will stone you or make you revert to their religion and then you will never have success.’” In other words, they will give them no peace. Of course it is Allah Who inspires them to hide in a cave. They all join together.

(About the belief in the vanished Mahdi (pbuh))

There is a terrible situation right now. They know the belief in the vanished Mahdi (pbuh) is false. They have turned the imprisonment of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh), his hiding himself away for a while, into something completely different. We need a meeting of the islamic scholars to correct this false belief en masse and put an end to this historic error. It is no good just Ahmadinajad or Khamenei giving it up. Because a large part of the Iranian people have been misinformed on this subject, too. There was misinformation in the past. It is impossible for Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) to come in the manner they describe; zero possibility. But Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) and all the major signs have appeared, just like our Prophet (pbuh) said. I prove that again and again, with documentary evidence. Let just one member of the Iranian scholars tell me this is wrong. Let him tell me, “This hadith and this portent are wrong. They can’t. Because they are true. Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) was born to a mother and a father, just like our Prophet (pbuh). Our Prophet (pbuh) did not hide away in a cave for thousands of years, did he? No prophet has ever hidden away for however many years. They all lived normal lives. They fought, suffered, and went hungry and thirsty. Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) is the same. The Mahdi they describe, that metaphysical, phantom Mahdi, will obviously never appear. No Muslim will believe that; nobody will really believe it. They do not believe it themselves. I used to think they genuinely believe it. Then I saw the Mahdi they describe is someone able to make instantaneous contact. As an image, a voice, a corporeal image. So there would be no need for Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) to come at all. They have in any case confirmed that, saying “There is no telling when Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will appear.” But what about all the portents? The portents listed by our Prophet (pbuh). They are totally discounted in that case. “There is no telling when he will appear,” they say. What a thing to say! That is self-fulfilling. Since, on the basis of that, there is no need, why should Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) appear? You already see him as an image whenever you wish, and speak with him when you want something, and that is then given to you. By that logic, why should Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) appear? They are confirming that Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will not be coming. They are doing terrible harm. That needs to be corrected right away.

Most people are unaffected by talk about injustices. Some people talk about injustice all the time. Communists are sometimes right on some issues. They complain about war and injustice. Of course, they do not implement justice, but they do complain about it. There is fear in 99% of the world as a whole. Most people are timid and apathetic. What good can we do, they say. Imagine someone becoming head of state in America. Then they say, “Now we may attract hostility from the Armenians, or from the Jews, or from Muslims, or from some particular country.” We will just have to cope as best we can. They are reluctant to tell the full truth. They are worried about pressure. Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will not hesitate in the face of pressure, but will tell the truth. That is Hazrat Mahdi’s (pbuh) advantage. Whoever the leader is, he is alone. Whoever it is, he is alone. He has a very small circle. Leaders do not have very large circles. But Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will be very powerful since his circle will be the whole Islamic world. Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) relies on Allah and Muslims. He has the support of Muslims, and that of Allah and the angels, so he is very powerful. But at the moment none of the world’s leaders are openly able to oppose injustice, if you have noticed. Obama uses a hesitant language and adopts policies of equilibrium. Because they would remove him from his post. They could remove him in a moment, or have him assassinated or pressurize him or attack him, or anything. That is why he feels he has to tread carefully. You look at someone else and they are the same. But Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will put an end to that imbalance. Because he is unaffected. Satan and the hordes of the dajjal [antichrist] apply pressure, but none of it wears Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) down. There is a hadith about it, “Mountains rise up before him, but he cuts through them and hoes on his way,” insha’Allah.

Islamic Union is not in fact all that complicated. People make it unduly complicated. There is nothing complicated about Israel living at ease in the region; that is an easy matter. But they portray it as difficult. It is not that hard for the Arabs to live in peace, but they make that complicated, too. Yet it is very easy. There is nothing impossible in it. They will live as friends and brothers, and just have to eliminate any feelings of hatred and enmity. The spirit of conflict must be eliminated and everyone must genuinely renounce their own rights and eradicate that anger inside them; they must live in peace, as friends. But that calls for will power. People are unable to come by that will power as entire communities, as collective personalities. It is essential for there to be a leader. There has to be a brain in charge so they can do this. They cannot do it so long as there is no such brain. The name of that brain is Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh). The result is anarchy when there is no one brain at the head of the Islamic world, but a many-brained body instead. Then the body turns cancerous. They all push in different directions. The body cannot act as one.  But if you have a body with a single brain, then that body can act very easily. But when a body of 1.5 billion members has 1.5 billion brains the body goes bankrupt. I mean, imagine someone with many brains, a hundred brains. One brain will tell him to go out while another tells him to stay indoors. One will tell him to eat something and another will tell him not to. What will happen to the body? The result will be anarchy. The body will start to turn on itself. Cancer will grow. That is why cancer grows in society. Cancer is forming in the Islamic world, in the world as a whole, and people are finding themselves at an impasse. But Allah is sending the Prophet Jesus the Messiah (pbuh) to the Christian world in order to eradicate that cancer, as well as Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) to the Muslim world, in order that this corruption should come to an end, so they should be connected to a single brain and thus live at ease.

Determined people lead the public. People of deep faith, deep wisdom lead communities. Otherwise, people are generally more disposed to be inward-looking and apathetic. That exists in people’s souls. Allah says that human beings are predisposed to be ignorant and cruel. Allah also says in verses that human beings are ungrateful. That is their nature. When Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) and the Prophet Jesus (pbuh) die, they will no longer have a leader, nobody to lead that community, to carry them to the true path, and so there will soon be a moral collapse. He [Bediuzzaman] says there will be secrecy and defeat after Hijri 1506. Up until 1543. Then for two years after 1543 there will be no activity at all. Bediüzzaman deduced this from Surat al-Asr and the al-Fatiha and from the hadiths. From three different sources. “By Allah’s leave, the Day of Reckoning will come in 1545,” he says, insha’Allah. And that of course is from the hadiths, insha’Allah.

The reason for Muslims coming to this state, being so oppressed, is bigotry. Bigotry has made them like this. They have abandoned art, science and reason. It forbids thought. It rejects art. Which means that 1.5 billion Muslims are prisoners and unbelievably oppressed, as everyone knows. Some die of hunger and others are martyred in bombings. Some are martyred through torture, while others are insulted and despised. Muslims are in a wretched state. Most are prisoners. They are fair game for everyone. They go and bomb them, seize their oil, confiscate their belongings and impound their funds overseas. The reason for this is bigotry. Backwardness; there are two kinds of retroactivity. One is when you go back and take what is good from the past, and that is enlightening. Then there is bigotry. A reversion to savageness. Many people have fallen captive to bigotry. I am striving intellectually to eradicate that, to eliminate that mindset. That is the only way we can be successful, insha’Allah.  

We must first prepare the way for the coming of Jesus the Messiah (pbuh). We must eliminate that Christian hatred. We must bring about solidarity between Christians and Muslims. That is essential. It is stressed in the Qur’an. Allah tells us only to debate with them using the most gentle form of words, and to invite them to believe in His Oneness. He tells us to treat them with love, and says we can marry their women. But some people keep talking about butchering them, instead. The bigots take one part of the Qur’an but ignore the other. They take the bit that suits them, but not the bits that don’t. So they try to prepare the groundwork for hatred. Yet Allah tells us in the Qur’an not to hate. He wants us to correct our errors. We must hate their errors, but apart from that, Allah desires no enmity from us. We will all see Jesus the Messiah (pbuh) together. This is a great event of this century, a giant event. People will regard Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) as quite normal, but Jesus the Messiah (pbuh) will astonish them. Because he will be sent back from another dimension by Allah after 2000 years. That is amazing. Of course they will also give Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) his due. But they will say: “America helped. The freemasons helped. The Jews helped. The secret state got involved. He was a very intelligent type. The groundwork was all ready. There was an ideological gap since all ideologies had collapsed. So what was to be done? Of course Islam came to fill it. There was support from Obama in that. Some of them organized support in Turkey. Or they brought this person in.” “That is all there is to it,” they will say. Look, I am writing this here. They will say more or less exactly that. That is what the hypocrites will say. But this is how Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will appear. You will see. They will also not believe in Jesus the Messiah (pbuh), either. You will see; just as described. You will recognize Jesus the Messiah (saas) by his breeding. From the accuracy of his words, his gentleness, his perfect character, his perfect language, the sharpness of his glance and his constant victory. His constant victory over the way of the dajjal [antichrist] will be most striking. He will always be most agreeable. But of course people will have their doubts. “How can Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) or Jesus the Messiah (pbuh) die? Can they die without fulfilling their duties?” That kind of thing is all part of the test. For example, Jesus the Messiah (pbuh) will fall ill from time to time. “Is anything going to happen to him?” they will wonder. Let us say they make an attempt on Hazrat Mahdi’s (pbuh) life (may Allah forbid), “but might anything come of it?” they will say. Their hearts will always be “lukewarm,” as they say. People will always be tested like that. But lofty minds and profound intelligences will always recognize Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh). It is impossible for them not to. They will also recognize Jesus the messiah (pbuh). On first sight. Because it is impossible not to recognize Jesus the Messiah (pbuh). Such a thing is quite impossible. How can a prophet not be recognized? They have their own unique, immaculate depth. Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) is a man of suffering. Jesus the Messiah (pbuh) is a man of suffering. But Hazrat Mahdi’s (pbuh) suffering is harsher. Really hard. That is why he is a guide.

To summarize, Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will always espouse peace. His priority will be being friends and establishing binds of friendship with everyone. He will aim to preach to everyone. He will eradicate that devilish thirst for blood. But toward the end. They will always thirst for blood. But Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will always repulse bloodshed and stop it. The more they want to shed blood, the more they try to inflict bloodshed and the way of satan, he will stop them. He will continue with determination, fortitude and patience. Bediüzzaman says he will concentrate on the truths of faith. “He will not enter politics,” he says. He says that Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will not marry. He will not get married according to the hadiths. So that he has plenty of time. “Neither time nor circumstances will permit Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) to write these works in person,” he says. In other words, he is saying that “He will have neither the time nor the conditions to personally write books against Darwinism and materialism.” “Before him, there will exist a ready-made program that a group of people have written for him,” he says. And Bediüzzaman says this is his most significant characteristic. He says that his basic task is the intellectual struggle against Darwinism, materialism, Leninism and Marxism. “This is his most important task,” he says, “his first duty.” “After that will come the law and life.” In other words, he will come to the implementation of Islamic moral values only later. And he will enjoy wide-ranging support from Muslims. And he says that he will perform this great duty with millions of loyal sayyids who have been powerful and determined in all ages. Even if that is not related, it is how it must be, he says, under the law of Allah. “There is no alternative,” he says. And he makes a vow in the name of Allah. “Islamic moral values will prevail in this century,” says Bediüzzaman Said Nursi. “You will see,” he says. That is the direction we are now headed in.

Israel, for example, is rather uneasy. But there is no reason for unease. The Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) who will appear is Mashiach, the King Messiah awaited by them. They have known no ease for the last 3000 years. But with the coming of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) they will be able to live without fear, in peace and wealth and abundance, for the first time in 3000 years. There was no peace for them even in the desert. You know they wandered the deserts for 40 years with the Prophet Moses (pbuh). They knew no peace. Other tribes constantly attacked them. They were constantly slaughtered. They were also butchered in Hitler’s time, as you know. They never knew peace. But they will live lives of wealth, abundance and peace for the very first time in the age of Mashiach, in other words of Shiloh, the King Messiah, Muhammad Mahdi. I can say that with confidence. I am as certain of it as I am of my own name.

When Allah shows us Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh), it will delight us to see the close physical resemblance. In other words, we will encounter a miracle from Allah. A truly astounding thing. It will be something truly historic, insha’Allah.

Jesus the Messiah (pbuh) and Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) are now at work. This is a matter that some people fail to understand. These developments surpass human reason. Something extraordinary is going on. All of Europe is collapsing. The Turkish economy has leaped forward. It has become the most advanced country. Something wondrous has happened. The most fanatical communist organization afflicted the Muslim Turkish nation. That is a marvel. The most fanatical members of the alleged organization Ergenekon came from Turkey. That is also a marvel. Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) has appeared from Turkey. Other things have also happened. But that is all I shall be saying for now. Khidhr (pbuh) is in Mardin, Urfa and Siirt. I can say that, too. There are many other things also to be said. Everything happens for the best, and with wisdom behind it. I will set that wisdom out in 10 years’ time, and you will be amazed at the wisdom behind these events. You will be astonished at what Khidhr has done.

You will encounter some qualities of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) you never knew he had. You will be utterly astonished. Hazrat Mahdi’s (pbuh) greatness does not stem from external events alone, insha’Allah. Nobody could resist Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) for even 2 or 3 minutes. No normal person can resist him. It is the same with the Prophet Job (pbuh). Nobody could resist him for 2 or 3 minutes even. These are qualities you will learn about later, insha’Allah.

 (About the hadith concerning Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) always looking younger than his age)

But not in the sense of superstitious nonsense, of course. I mean, he is still a normal human being. He will reach the age of 60, but look 40. He will still look 40 when he reaches the age of 70. He will be fit. That is what the hadith means. But there is no question of him living as a phantom in a cave for hundreds of years and then suddenly appearing before people. It is wrong to change truth into superstition. They must not turn truth into superstition. That means assaulting Islam. It means being in the ranks of satan. May Allah forbid. No Muslim would do that deliberately, but Muslims still have a responsibility to act rationally.

Our Prophet (pbuh) says in a hadith that, “70,000 bigots wearing turbans will stand in the ranks of the dajjal against Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh).” In other words, they will say that, “Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) does not exist.” Seventy thousand bigots will engage in activities intended to in some way eliminate Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh). The hadith is quite explicit on that.

It is impossible without the way of the Mahdi, there can be no peace for them any other way. They will inevitably suffer and be unhappy. Allah will not allow Himself to be challenged (may He forbid). I mean, they cannot do it. That is destiny. There can be no salvation apart from Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh). It is he who will defeat satan and the way of the dajjal [antichrist]. He and his followers. Results can be obtained when people follow him. Otherwise, there will be a huge struggle against the dajjal, but no results. Because the dajjal is not a creature that can easily be defeated. Allah’s help is needed, insha’Allah.

It is a miracle how Hazrat Mahdi (as) was foretold 3000 years ago in the Torah. Because only one single moment exists in the Sight of Allah. Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) has long since been born in the Sight of Allah. Jesus the Messiah (pbuh) has long since been born, grown up and died. That goes for everyone. Everything is over with. Eternal life, in the broadest sense, in the finest sense, has already come to an end in the Sight of Allah, insha’Allah.

 “Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will not have the time or circumstances with which to do this work himself.” He will not have the time, and his spiritual state will also make it impossible. This is a secret. For example, Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will be tongue-tied from time to time. That is a secret between him and Allah. People will realize it subsequently. He says that it will be impossible in terms of his lacking the time and the conditions. “A group of people before him…” In other words, all kinds of intellectual activity on their part against those European scientists with their Darwinism and materialism. They will take flour and butter and sugar and make a cake. Flour is meaningless on its own. Butter is meaningless on its own. Sugar is meaningless on its own. But put them together, in an appropriate manner, and you can make a cake. That is what Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will do.

The Mahdi is very practical and valorous. He will take the weapons used by disbelief, by the Christians and by the Jews, and weld them together to form a perfect weapon that will blast Darwinism and materialism apart. That is what Bediüzzaman describes.

The Prophet Moses (pbuh) had a very particular condition. He came to Pharaoh, and his chest tightened, his blood pressure rose and he experienced palpitations. He wished to speak, but was unable to because of his excitement. There are some people who become tongue-tied as they speak. Lots of people are unable to speak from excitement. We see that on the television and in films. The Prophet Moses (pbuh) had that attractive quality, he became tongue-tied. Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will also become tongue-tied. “O Lord, give me my brother Aaron as a helper,” he says. Then they go and stand up to Pharaoh. The Prophet Moses (pbuh) challenges him, but suddenly becomes overexcited as he speaks. He becomes tongue-tied. At which his brother Aaron (pbuh) takes over. He starts speaking in his place. As Aaron speaks, the Prophet Moses (pbuh) recovers and starts speaking again. And again he becomes tongue-tied and Aaron has to take over again.

There are constant miracles on the way of the Mahdi. Allah works miracles. It is as if we were in the time of the Prophet Moses (pbuh). Allah keeps working miracles. Nine miracles took place then, and the same nine miracles are happening with Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh), one after the other. The closure of the Kaaba. Stopping the hajj at the Kaaba is the first miracle. Allah produced a miracle there. Eclipses of the Sun and Moon 15 days apart is a miracle. The appearance of two tailed comets one after the other is a miracle. An army vanishing in the desert is a miracle. The occupation of Afghanistan is a miracle. Iraq being invaded by a number of countries is a miracle. Because they all happened at the same time. There were plagues of insects and locusts in Egypt, one after the other, in the time of the Prophet Moses (pbuh). And it is a miracle how they happened after the Prophet Moses’ (pbuh) prayer. Otherwise, there is nothing particularly extraordinary about them. They may happen from time to time. But the way they happened one after the other following his prayer is a miracle. The plague of locusts, or the way they became covered in boils. Boils may appear at any time, but these nine miracles all took place right after he prayed. Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will also have nine miracles, but people will be unaware of it, many people will fail to realize. Allah is working miracles one after the other, as in the time of the Prophet Moses (pbuh). The earth has moved. Allah has produced this economic crisis. That is a separate miracle. Its cause is unknown to people. They have been unable to find a technical solution to it. They do not know its cause. Europe cannot solve it. All of Europe has combined together and pooled their money. “Let us print money,” they say. But that does not work. So they wonder what to do next. “It will last for another year,” they said. But I said, “The crisis will last for seven years, not one.” They rejected that then the IMF issued an official statement. But I was the source of that. Go and ask the IMF where they got the idea of seven years from. “Adnan hodja said,” they will say. What else can they say? They have no other sources of reference. I told them.

Hazrat Muhammed Mahdi (pbuh) is descended from our Prophet (pbuh), the Ahl al-Bayt. His appearance and everything have been described. His time has come. Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) is a rational, loving, affectionate and reasonable person. The whole Muslim world will follow him. But what would happen if they followed a phantom? Every lunatic will develop his own ideas, that is what. Every crazy, psycho and schizophrenic would have his own idea of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh). One crazy will say, “I saw Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) on a wall.” So what? “And he commanded me to kill and slaughter,” he will say. Then the next crazy will say, “A mysterious voice came to me.” And the next will say, “I saw an image in corporeal form. As real as anything.” What can we say to people like that? Who are mad as hatters. Would we have to waste time on them? We do not need any of that craziness. From whoever it may be. I respect everyone’s beliefs and am full of love. But I will not permit bloodshed because of a schizophrenic or paranoiac logic. From anyone. We will not allow our neighbors to do it, and will not allow ourselves. We will not let anyone do that We have a responsibility to the whole Middle East and the whole world, insha’Allah.

Bediüzzaman says: “The first:  The (last) two duties in the End Times are not of the same degree as the first; and, it seems to everyone, particularly to public and politicians and according to the public opinion of this century, that the union of Islam and successorship of the Prophet Mohammad (saas) is thousand times far-reaching than the first.” When Cübbeli talks about these things, they always consider the political or sovereignty aspects. They do not see the first stage of the preaching aspect. “If he [Hazrat Mahdi (as)] has appeared, that should be obvious,” he says, since he will appear in the political and sovereignty aspects. But when he first appears he will not concentrate on politics and sovereignty. He will talk about the signs leading to faith. He will emphasize the signs leading to faith, crushing Darwinism and materialism and describing the secrets of the Qur’an.

Developments in Egypt, and in other Islamic countries, will generally revolve around the way of the Mahdi. We can already see that they are developing along the line of the way of the Mahdi. We see that demand is following that line. What the public want in Libya is Islamic Union. The view of the Egyptian people is also for Islamic Union. The view in Turkey is the same. But this will manifest itself as the way of the Mahdi. The King Messiah, or Moshiach, who appears in the Torah is the same person Muslims refer to as the Mahdi. An age of peace, brotherhood and democracy will begin across the world. The age of savagery, conflict and terror will end. We will all see this, in stages, over the next 10 years. But events in Egypt and other Islamic countries may go on a bit longer. But they will not assume serious dimensions. There is no question of war breaking out in the Middle East. I believe that the Prophet Jesus (pbuh) is on Earth. I believe he has returned. And that the Mahdi has come. Since everything I have said so far has come about and things are still continuing to come about in that way, people can see that I am telling the truth. This is not demagoguery or a belief or an obsession. It is a fact.

In my view, that will not be possible for a time. Disorder will continue for a while. But peace will come once the system beds in, with Islamic Union and when the wave of the way of the Mahdi reaches there. There is this idea on Egypt of taking Turkey as a model. That means adopting the Turkish idea of the way of the Mahdi as a model. Democracy, peace, brotherhood, toleration of others, warmth and the defense of art and science have all been agreed within this framework. They adopted Turkey as a model. But the model in Turkey is the way of the Mahdi. So I am therefore saying they have turned to the way of the Mahdi, and that is a good thing for Egypt.

The Egyptian people are not so interested in the economic framework. Religion is now regarded as the important thing. They are concentrating on resolving problems in religion. The people are content with very simple lives. That is so in all Islamic countries, but especially in Egypt. The people are not looking for well-being. Their aim is to live by the Qur’an and the way of the Mahdi and enjoy spiritual satisfaction. Otherwise, Egyptians are not worried about eating good food or driving round in luxury cars. Anyone who looks can see that. Their sole aim is Islamic Union and for people to live by the moral values of the Qur’an. Anyone who looks rationally can see that.

The Muslim Brotherhood predominates in Egypt. The Muslim Brotherhood are the party coming to power. The Muslim Brotherhood organization. Their main idea is again the way of the Mahdi. They have said that quite explicitly. At their meetings they have said, in Arabic, “No madrassa, no education, but the Mahdi will come.” They therefore believe that the Mahdi has come. They believe we are in the age of the way of the Mahdi and are beginning to live like Muslims. They may be content to sit on the floor at home or to live on a little bread and cheese, but they do insist on living by Islam. That is what they really demand. Otherwise, only 1% or 2% of Egyptians are preoccupied by the idea of “Let us establish industry and have economic prosperity so our children can be well-off.” But the other 98% think along the lines of the Muslim Brotherhood. It is easy to confirm that with a bit of research. It is a visible fact.

We will see such an organization in the entire world. The reason for the economic crisis in Europe is their turning away from religion. The crisis began because they abandoned religion. The reason for America’s prosperity is also that they believe in Allah. That is even on the U.S. dollar, words expressing their belief in Allah, as you know. States and nations that believe in Allah are more successful. But when people do not believe in Allah, when there is no faith, then crises and collapse follow. The whole world has seen. Even in Greece the clergy came together and prayed. They asked for policies to help faith flourish. They all agree that they have ended up like this because faith has been weakened by the lack of religious education. Irreligion kills people’s strength and activity, it kills off their excitement and creativity and joy of living. And the result is economic crisis and collapse.

The internet is the Dabbat al-Ardh, the one referred to in the Qur’an. I have described it before. The way of the Mahdi and the way of the dajjal [antichrist] reveal themselves within the Dabbat al-Ardh. Because we can grasp the way of the Mahdi by comparing it to the way of the dajjal. For example, their mouths are filthy and vile and aggressive and bigoted. Their mouths are godless and bookless. Their mouths are those of the PKK [terror organization] and curs of that kind. What do we call the sum total of that? The mouth of the dajjal. The community of the dajjal. A team belonging to the way of the dajjal. But if we look, we see love, affection, compassion, quality, beauty, goodness, forgiveness, pleasant conversation and hospitality, then that is a branch of the way of the Mahdi. An arm of the Mahdi striving against the arm of the dajjal. We see that when we look carefully. Otherwise, the way of the Mahdi is invisible to the naked eye. The way of the dajjal is invisible to the naked eye. People expect a creature with one eye in the middle of its head. And when they talk about Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) they immediately want to see a single person. OK, Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) is one person, but his effects come through his ideas and his followers. The dajjal is one person, but he also acts through his ideas and followers. The arena where these ideas clash is the world. Where is the most powerful and visible arena? The internet. When you look at the internet you see a total battle of ideas against the way of the Mahdi. Against the way of the Mahdi, like a rabid dog. You can see its attacks. It attacks the truth, beauty and right as if it were rabid. You can see the foaming mouths of the extremists, the mouths of the irreligious and their allies. You can see the atheist on top and a member of the alleged terror organization Ergenekon behind. Then comes a pervert, and behind him an atheist. Next comes a member of a communist terror organization. Another one is a bigot. Then comes another arm of bigotry. But these are all one single team. A single community or a single nation. They act as the way of the antichrist. But Muslims are good people, honest and fine and pleasant. They act as a separate community. Of believers, of people who love Allah. Christians who believe in the existence and oneness of Allah are allied with Muslims. Those Jews who believe in the existence and oneness of Allah are also allied with Muslims. And there is a merciless struggle going on. What kind of struggle? An intellectual one. One waged with intelligence, knowledge and philosophy. Now, my brother may say, “the internet is against Muslims.” Let us imagine he says that it contains writings against Muhammad Rashid Erol or Sheikh Nazım Kıbrisi, or against Bediuzzaman or me, meaning my group of friends, or against the followers of Esat Coşan. What does that mean? It is a manifestation of the way of the dajjal. When you look you will see the way of the dajjal. You will see the way of the dajjal in their filthy, bigoted mouths, in their loveless mouths devoid of beauty and quality, in their mouths that strive to pollute and foul the world. Because the dajjal’s job is to pollute and foul the world. Hazrat Mahdi’s (pbuh) duty it to beautify it and cleanse it. The dajjal pollutes. The way of the dajjal pollutes the air and the streets. But the way of the Mahdi cleans the air. So people and buildings are clean. The dajjal just makes people foul. But the way of the Mahdi beautifies people. The way of the dajjal makes them ugly. They end up with dull, meaningless, soulless faces. Their faces grow ugly and repellent, cold and uncared for and filthy. They turn into apes. Almighty Allah says in the Qur’an they turn into pigs and apes. He turns them into pigs and apes. They assume a foul and ugly appearance under the way of the dajjal. But under the influence of Islam, the Qur’an and the way of the Mahdi, light, beauty, goodness and loveliness will come to people’s faces. But the way of the dajjal has a filthy mouth. Its talk is filthy. It uses foul words. It is without hope and full of fear. It seeks to spread fear. It expresses terror. It uses perverse terminology. But the way of the Mahdi expresses love, beauty, peace and goodness. You can see the bitter struggle between the two on the internet. Look for a committee of the dajjal on the internet and you will see them right away. And if you look for Hazrat Mahdi’s (pbuh) people, you will see them right away. The mouth of the way of the dajjal is destructive in all it says. That is why a hadith about the dajjal says, “the dajjal has a pipe, from which a thousand and one sounds emanate.” Look, “a thousand and one sounds.” The internet and the television are also the pipes of the dajjal and produce a thousand and one sounds. But they are also the stage for the way of the Mahdi, a place where the way of the Mahdi fully reveals itself. It also uses them to show up the filth and foulness of the way of the dajjal. It produces many different sounds. It may be in the form of bigotry, or the PKK, or the terrorist mindset or a suicide bomber. But they all have the same mindset. The way of the Mahdi wants people to live. The way of the dajjal wants to kill. The way of the Mahdi aims for long lives, the way of the dajjal wants short ones. The way of the Mahdi is full of joy, but the way of the dajjal means grieving and weeping. It encourages tears and weeping. It engages in a constant philosophy of sorrow. But the way of the Mahdi uses joy to preach against the way of the dajjal. The way of the dajjal says there is no Allah, in its own eyes. But the way of the Mahdi constantly talks about the existence and oneness of Allah.

Our Prophet (saas) described  Hazrat Mahdi (as) 1,400 years ago. Indeed, there is reference to him in the 3,000 year old Torah and also in the Psalms. He is just like how our Prophet (saas) and Torah describes him. It is amazing that he appears just like how he is depicted. This is astonishing and perfectly in compliance with the Law of Allah. For instance, Bediuzzaman says, “Hazrat Mahdi (as) does not know himself. Even he does not know himself.” This is astonishing. All the signs will be in compliance with him, but that blessed person will not know himself. He will not notice himself. He will not consider himself to be him; he will simply say, “What if?”. That is striking. At the beginning he will not know it himself.

About the notion of a ghost Mahdi: First of all this notion is highly insincere. It is unnecessary, it is evident. Even a five-year old would immediately understand it. “Hazrat Mahdi (as) entered the cave and disappeared there. He did not die; he has been there for  1,000 years. Meanwhile he has been appearing to people as an image, as a sound. He even  brings possessions and materials. He fulfills whatever he does.”  This is an act  committed to prevent the appearance of Hazrat Mahdi (as). Meanwhile, our brothers get involved with it. This is the issue. Everyone knows that such a  Mahdi will not come. The Qur’an relates about Ashab al-Kahf and the coming of Prophet Jesus (as). First of all, our Prophet (saas) does not make such a depiction about him. What does our Prophet (saas) say? “He will be born  of parents; he will go through suffering , difficulties and imprisoned. He will come to the West from the East. He will pass through the sea and carry out his activities near the sea. He will make effort for about 40-years.  He will have a young appearance even when he grows old. One would simply help satan if he converts this into a system that will hinder the appearance of Hazrat Mahdi (as). For Allah’s good pleasure, our brothers must thwart this plot. This is so wrong. First of all, no one would sincerely believe in this. Besides, there is not such a hadith. This is against the Law of Allah. Which prophets came in this manner? Because Hazrat Mahdi (as) will live in compliance with the Law of Allah, but the coming of Prophet Jesus (as) is miraculous. The  state of Ashab al-Kahf is wonderous and this is related in the Qur’an. One needs to consider this issue rationally and sincerely. One must completely fulfill this. 

The creed of Ghost Mahdi is a plot of satan: Our brothers must not be deceived by such a plot. It is a plot to hinder the appearance of Hazrat Mahdi (as). The Ghost Mahdi never came and he will never come. We are at the End Times. Our Prophet says, “7,000 years.” There is no other time. Where is the Ghost Mahdi? Hazrat Mahdi (as) has come. There is no ghost, whatsoever. 

Satan presented the notion of a ghost Mahdi as a plot but he failed. His purpose was to use it against Catholics in line with a rationale like, “You await for Prophet Jesus (as) while we await for Hazrat Mahdi (as).” It seems that he developed it as an alternative creed. It is a totally artificial belief. Satan expects them, now and then, to take refuge in Hazrat Mahdi (as) like seeking refuge in Allah, Allah forbid. He expects them to call on him and say, “Save us, Hazrat Mahdi (as).” This stems from a need for an idol.

Surely Muslims will eat the best of food, ride in the most luxurious cars and have the most quality attire. They will hear the best of words and use the best perfumes. They deserve the best of everything both in this world and the Hereafter. They think that when Hazrat Mahdi (as) comes, Muslims will have scarce means and they will live in dirty places, in basements. That is not the case. The system of Hazrat Mahdi is [made up of] glory and wealth. Wealth will be enormously abundant. Hazrat Mahdi (as) will distribute properties and people will ask for them although they have plenty. There will be so many properties that one will say; “Am I greedy? Am I the most greedy of this ummah? Is it becoming?” Because he had taken properties although he had many. He wants to give them back, but Hazrat Mahdi (as) rejects taking  them back. Wealth will flow like rivers. We will plant fruit trees all over the streets. There will be no concrete, etc. We will build the glory and beauty of the Ottoman period by a thousand times, Insha’Allah. Avenues, streets, everywhere will turn into fair grounds, insha’Allah. The youth will be exuberant . They will be filled with joy and happiness. Do our citizens deserve shanties? By Allah’s leave, as the followers of Hazrat Mahdi (as) we will make them lead the best lives. All damp and dirty houses will be demolished, insha’Allah, and will be replaced by roomy, spacious houses, autobahns, etc. We will be instrumental in forming a glorious environment, insha’Allah. People will host one another, invite one another. Everywhere will be like a place of feasting. They will enjoy and we will make them live in joy. Not a drop of blood will be shed, insha’Allah. We will eliminate all weapons. No armaments. The expenses made on armaments will be diverted to welfare. Africa will have greater welfare than Paris, insha’Allah. People will be amazed at it, insha’Allah. Money is spent on blood, on human blood now. But money will be spent to make people happy, to make them laugh and live in joy, insha’Allah.

Yes. Allah makes him  ‘ The Owner of the Time’. Allah makes Hazrat Mahdi (as) the ruler of the world. Who is the Ruler of the world? Allah is the ruler of the world. Allah makes Hazrat Mahdi (as) instrumental for it. For instance, Badii, Allah is the Badii. There is the Bediuzzaman. Allah manifests in him. That is to say, it is the manifestation of His beautiful attributes, Insha’Allah.

If they have a right creed, Allah saves people from scourges. Otherwise Iran would be disintegrated, let me say. Indeed, three countries attack it. That is, they would strike the centers of vital importance. A very catastrophic civil war would happen. Iran would disintegrate, be divided. That is to say, it would disintegrate into three parts. But if they listen to what Rasulallah (saas) spoke of  in the true sense of the word, and trust in Allah; because currently they do not have a style that trusts in Allah; you see it when they come here. “What would America say?” America would say nothing. What will it say? Nothing. They still ask, “What would America say?” Nothing. Have you ever demanded that the Islamic Union  be established and has ever America rejected it? America says nothing. America is fervently attached to an understanding of Islam that advocates love and compassion and non-blood shedding. They want it profoundly. So does Israel. But if you say, “Hazrat Mahdi (as) has appeared on the wall”, everyone would feel irritated. Even Turkey felt anxious. They said, “We accept the radar base to be established in Malatya.” In Malatya. Why? Against whom? Against Iran. There is no other reason. They in no way change their mind. You all know; would a ghost Mahdi remain in a cave for a thousand years ? They say, “There is no need for the Hazrat Mahdi (as) to come. His image already appears.” Why would Hazrat Mahdi (as) appear? They say, “I saw the light.” All right, he has already come. Then the light will speak to  you and then you will go and bomb, right? You will say, “I saw the image on the wall.” “We will shed an ocean of blood  .” My brother, this is insanity. Hazrat Mahdi (as) does not shed blood. He does not even awaken a sleeping person. Don’t you see the hadith of our Prophet (saas)? You must take Iran’s word seriously. I warned Saddam, he did not listen and a disaster came upon him. I warned that madman in Libya, he did not listen and he was  massacred horrifically. If Iran also abides by Rasaullah’s (saas) words and the Qur’an, Iran would become one of the best countries of the world. The Unity of Islam would also come about. A very easy, a very beautiful life will come. But in a contrary situation, the disaster seems to be at hand, Allahualem.

So is Hazrat Mahdi (as). Hazrat Mahdi (as) will gradually develop. The team of satan will say, “ He has been supported by freemasons, Jews and Zionists. America and Russia have provided support. And they have connection with China; that is, everything is planned and they had room for it. Communism has already been crushed, there was an economic crisis. They went over Muslims and oppressed them so  this Arab spring was organized. Ultimately they transformed it into the spring of Hazrat Mahdi (as).” This will be the mindset of the satan’s proponents. Muslims, on the other hand say, “Masha’Allah, Allah knows the truth, he is Hazrat Mahdi (as). Notice that the satan’s proponents will say that everyone including George Bush, Putin etc. are all included so it would be better not to oppose to him and approve whatever he does.” That is because Hazrat Mahdi (as) will act in compliance with the Qur’an. They can also not object. He will gather all the ulamas and scholars and gather together a committee. That is to say, Hazrat Mahdi (as) will bring together a big committee of scholars. This being the case, they can not object. How can they dare to object? Meanwhile, the ulama does not act contrary to Hazrat Mahdi’s (as) judgment. They will say, “May Allah be pleased with you” and approve his words. If there are some technical errors, they can warn them as, “In Arabic that word has such a meaning.” That is because Hazrat Mahdi (as) does not know Arabic. Bediuzzaman says that ulama will support. In brief, before the very eyes of the world, the system of Hazrat Mahdi (as) will come about with all its glory; you will witness this.

In 2012, the system of Hazrat Mahdi (as) will proceed to an ideological attack. It will be more vivid, more active. And Allah will manifest on Earth with His name “Al-Hadi.” People will no longer fall into error. Faith will be constantly on the rise. This is what will happen. Allah will be remembered everywhere. There will be mention of Hazrat Mahdi (as) and Prophet Jesus (as). There will be an expansion in people’s minds . The spell on people will be broken. That hypnosis will be lifted. These are the events. How would dajjal grasp the world? What else will dajjal do? 99 percent of the world is irreligious. People will see dajjal coming, but they will still say, “We are awaiting dajjal.” Dajjal will already shed blood. The blood of more than one billion people has  already been spilled. Is one billion a small figure? 99 percent of people have turned out to be irreligious. Consequently ,dajjal has already carried out its task. The time is the time of Hazrat Mahdi (as). Insha'Allah.

(You express the words “Insha'Allah” and “Masha’Allah” very frequently. I know that it is a portent of the system of Hazrat Mahdi (as). I will be glad if you could further explain the meaning of these words)

Yes the followers of Hazrat Mahdi (as ) will dominate the world with the words Insha'Allah and masha’Allah. Pay attention to the words “Insha” and “Masha”. When angels hear the words “Insha” and “Masha”, no disaster befalls  that place. When angels hear these words, they stop a disaster that will strike them. The disaster approaches, comes close, but when it hears the words “Insha” and “Masha”, it goes back. The disaster does not enter by Allah’s Will. Insha'Allah and Masha’Allah are instrumental in Islam’s ruling the world. We will recite these words a lot, Insha'Allah. The disaster comes like a cloud and when it receives the vibration of this recital, it simply returns. No disaster enters there Insha'Allah. It brings domination and blessings, Insha'Allah.

I repeated this many times that this is blasphemy. You can say, “You are like Hazrat Mahdi (as)” or “You are a soldier of Hazrat Mahdi (as).” Is it proper to say this? This would make one go astray. Hazrat Mahdi (as)  is innocent. What does this mean? He is among the people of the Paradise. But if you say, “You are like Hazrat Mahdi (as)”, “You are a follower of Hazrat Mahdi (as)”, that would be becoming. That is why I warn you sternly about this issue. 

For instance, I see some young people who try to make themselves resemble a celebrity in order to be admired. They display snobbish attitudes with unusual clothes. The fact is, a woman feels convinced that that guy is really unwise and a fool and considers him to be very dangerous. People think that they will be liked more if they remain without manners. But a snobbish person is very dangerous. He can never attain profundity. He can never be wise. That is to say, he can not see the details of passion. He can only notice very superficial, simple, animal-like features. Consequently Allah makes snobbish people meet with other snobs. The people who do not possess   character also find such people. This also holds true for spoiled people. Allah grants everyone the kind of love relative to the power of love in his heart.

They are the images that people see in the realm of illusion. That is, there are   angels constantly accompanying him. 3,000 angels help him. Will they be visible? No. Would the environment of trial be in this world if they were seen? In which era of the world has such an incident happened? The idolaters of Mecca wanted our Prophet (saas) to have angels descend upon him so that they could announce that he was a prophet. Allah relates that this is impossible. An angel is not seen. It eliminates the free will. For instance, in the hadith it is said, “A person within his skull caps heralds Hazrat Mahdi (as).” Indeed, my dear Sheikh Nazim Master is within his skull caps. It is on his head, on his shoulders, hanging down his breast. This is the real skull cap, complying with our Prophet’s (saas) Sunnah. We looked at our Sheikh Ahmet Yasin Master. He has worn his skull cap; again fully in compliance with the Sunnah of our Prophet (saas). Where are they? Within the skull cap. They give the good news of Hazrat Mahdi (as). In the first place, it refers to our Sheikh Nazim Master. and then to Sheikh Ahmet Yasin Master, Insha’Allah.

(In response to the question related to the life of World)

Bediüzzaman said; “A group of my ummah will, by Allah’s leave, remain on what is just until the Day of Judgment.” A hadith from our Prophet (saas). Bediüzzaman says, “Based on these eight hadith and the numerological analysis, the numerical value of the section “a group of my ummah” being 1542 (2117) refers the end of their existence. Until 1542, the followers of Hazrat Mahdi (as) will continue their ideological struggle, but in a concealed and defeated form. These are the second generation of Hazrat Mahdi’s (as) followers. They are not those who have seen him. They are the second generation. The numerical value of the section, “remain on what is just” is 1506 (2082). Until the year 2082. So the period during which  the morality of Islam will prevail, and Islam will be powerful, will be until 2082. Following 2082, Christianity, Judaism and Islam will disappear. Nothing remains after 2082. In time, they become fewer and fewer and ultimately disappear. “Until this date, it will be obvious and overt. Hazrat Mahdi’s followers will continue their efforts in a victorious manner until 2082. “Maybe in a defeated manner; it closely refers to the continuation of the task of enlightening until 1542 (2117) in a concealed and defeated manner. “Until Allah’s command comes”; the numerological value of this section is 1545 (2120) and it refers to the DAY OF JUDGMENT.”  2120- Two, one, two. 2 is repeated twice; there is one 1 in the middle. There is some wisdom in the repeating of the  twos.

Haven’t you seen that the hadith of our Prophet (saas) has come true? You have seen. You feign ignorance about it. Your faith is weak. This is where the problem lies. “What if Hazrat Mahdi (as) does not appear!”, “What if the morality of Islam does not dominate!”, “What if Allah does not exist, Allah forbid!”, “What if there exists no Hell and Heaven”, “What if there exists no angels.” This is weakness of faith. What is easier than the Unity of Islam? What is more reasonable than this? Muslim countries are coming together. They want friendship, brotherhood, love, peace and democracy. They want to put an end to wars. They desire armament and not disarmament. Notice that they desire disarmament. They give messages of brotherhood to the entire world. Jews and Christians approach with compassion. They embrace them. They also pray and make effort for their salvation. This is the Unity of Islam. Why would America be against it? 

Hazrat Mahdi (as) disappears. He may be in prison, he may be hidden. This is another matter altogether, but he is not in the bottom of a well. He is born from parents. He hides or remains in prison at a certain period of his life. He will be away from the eyes of people for a while. How did Prophet Yusuf (as) hide in  a cave for some time? Allah hid him in a well and he remained in prison. Prophet Yusuf (as) disappeared twice. Hazrat Mahdi (as) will disappear like him. He is not a ghost in a cave.

(About those who misinterpret the hadiths relating that Hazrat Mahdi  (as) will appear in every home” 

It is said that he will come in three forms. One; as an image. As the image of his face. Two; as a sound. It is said that a sound will come to one’s ear. Three: “His body will form as an image; as a three-dimensional image. It is said that he will come in these three forms. Then they say; “Hazrat Mahdi (as) is in  occultation.” How can he be? He has already come, how can he come for a second time? Where will he get into prison? Why should he get into prison in that state? Why should he have suffering? In this state, does he have to communicate the message together with his followers? According to this mindset, he already accomplishes his task since he enters every house and every place, and since he demolishes buildings with reciting one takbir (saying Allahu Akbar-Allah is the Greatest). Also keep  in mind that everyone will follow him. Then this means he has not just 313 followers but millions of them. That is to say, he has already accomplished his task since everyone will be following him. In this case, there is no need for the appearance of Hazrat Mahdi (as). That is why they don’t want him to appear. They want to use Hazrat Mahdi (as) as an imaginary being. They want to say that Hazrat Mahdi (as)  will come when one gets into difficulty. They will say, “What will happen to us?” and they will answer. “Hazrat Mahdi (as) would come and save us.” They attempted to present him like a refuge in case of a deadlock. In a way, to form something of a psychological satisfaction because they actually do not want him to come. 

We ask, “When will he come?” They answer, “We don’t know.” Don’t you say that he enters everyone’s home. Then he has already come. He comes at any one’s house at any time. He appears at any time you want, and you can consult him as you wish. Also they say that it is obligatory to submit to him. That is to say, when Hazrat Mahdi (as)  says something, it is obligatory to do it. [What if he says], “I heard a whisper, go and bomb Turkey.” Then it is over. They will just push the button to bomb. That is why all of Europe and Turkey are showing reaction. Now the missile shield system is being installed in Turkey. That is because of the [notion of] this ghost Mahdi. This is a very great peril. A very awkward belief. They almost burn Muslims. You completely deny the spirit of the Qur’an. This is a totally different incident. A state that no other prophet ever experienced. They sit down and demagogue . They attempt to resemble him to Prophet Jesus (as). Ashab al-Kahf and Prophet Jesus (as) are related in the Qur’an. Is there such a provision about Hazrat Mahdi (as)  in the Qur’an? He is a distinguished servant of Allah. You attribute a power to him that is superior than all prophets. You attribute him a power that no other prophet has ever had and make him a person who is not tried in this world. How would Hazrat Mahdi (as) have his trial in this state? He enters each home, penetrates each wall and exits from everywhere. Having said that, they say, “He will go into prison.” So is this occultation? Since he can come whenever he wishes, what kind of an occultation is this? He meets whoever he wishes. You can call him to your home any time. Then what kind of an occultation is this? It becomes an occultation if he enters prison or if he hides by his own will. No one can see him then. This is what we call “occultation”. This is what our Prophet (saas) meant when he said “occultation”. That is why he links  him to Prophet Joseph (as). He will hide in the real sense of the word.

(In response to the question, “Muslim, Christian and Jewish scientists have put down their signatures and admitted to evolution. They acknowledge evolution, why don’t you?”) 

Because I am on the side of Hazrat Mahdi (as). They are not aware of what they are doing. We are on the side of Creation. In his time Pharaoh was also trying to convince the public saying, “You have been created from the mud of the Nile”, he too was trying to collect signatures from the people there and trying to make them believe. What did Prophet Moses (as) do? Allah made him throw his staff. When the staff turned into a snake, they understood that Creation is a definite fact and the notion of evolution is wrong. So they believed. Therefore those who advocate Creation are with Hazrat Mahdi (as). We, as the followers of Hazrat Mahdi (as), surely advocate Creation.

Hazrat Mahdi (as) does not run away from his country. His place of emergence is Istanbul. If he has deserted Istanbul like a bird, then this means he is not the Mahdi (as). Someone who runs away can not be the Mahdi (as). Hazrat Mahdi (as) is  brave, he is courageous. He does not avoid  anything; neither  prison nor anything else. He fears  Allah alone. He deals a devastating blow through science and knowledge against Darwinism and materialism. He makes alliances with devout Christians and Jews, Insha’Allah. He embraces all Muslims, he does not grow arrogant. He does not say that he receives revelations or  that he is the Mahdi. His saying that he is the Mahdi is a portent of his not being the Mahdi. According to the hadith, Hazrat Mahdi (as) in no way accepts being the Mahdi.

(Regarding an Iranian commander who recently made the statement, “We will first destroy the anti-missile system in Turkey in retaliation of a possible attack targeting Iran.”

There are some people who want to set Iran against Turkey in a war. I really do not know if that brother actually said something like that. If he really said it, then that means he is explicitly deceived. First of all Hazrat Mahdi (as) does not allow for  a war between Turkey and Iran and secondly Prophet Jesus (as) does not allow it. As  living beings. And Hazrat Khidir (as) does not allow it. These are very harmful words. They should never utter them. Neither Iran attacks Turkey nor vice versa. We will bring down the heavens upon those who attempt it. No one can dare to commit such a stealthy act. Neither Turkey can attack Iran, and nor Iran can attack Turkey. Nothing of the sort can ever happen. Those who try to set a Muslim against other Muslims are perfidious. As the followers of Hazrat Mahdi (as), we do not allow such perfidy or such a conspiracy. This is unlikely.

(Some hadiths regarding the system of Mahdi in the Kutub al-Sittah; the Second Phase)

It is related that in the time of Hazrat Mahdi  (as) “The earth will throw out pieces like golden plates.” In other words, an enormous wealth will come out.  The hearts of people will soften, they will become generous. The Earth will fill with abundance.” 

Abundance is something important; for instance, we experience it in Turkey now. This abundance is obvious to see. 

“A treasure will come out from beneath the Kaaba. The Ark of the Covenant will be dislodged from the Antioch or  Lake Tabariya .” It is the famous golden ark of the Prophet Moses (as). “It will be put on shoulders and brought before Hazrat Mahdi (as) in Bayt al-Maqdis. Upon witnessing it, all Jews except for some will convert to Islam.” This means that Hazrat Mahdi (as) has good relations with the Jews, and when they see the Ark they will convert to Islam.

It is narrated from Hazrat Khbir (as), the Messenger of Allah (saas) said; “Hazrat Mahdi (as) has the mastership of the Prophet Moses (pbuh)”, he is a master like the Prophet Moses (pbuh), he says. “The beauty of the Prophet Jesus (pbuh)”, he is beautiful like the Prophet Jesus (pbuh) “The patience of the Prophet Job (pbuh)”. Slanders, difficulties, prison, pains. He is patient in all of them.

“Abu Khibr said to Imam Muhammad Bakr (as): "...HOW IS HAZRAT MAHDI (AS) RECOGNIZED?  He answered:"WITH HIS GUIDANCE AND HIS GRANDEUR”. He has a surprising grandeur. And he is surprised to his faith. He has an out of the ordinary faith. He has an uncommon grandeur. He says that he is known through the acknowledgment of his students and loved ones. So his students praise him. This is acknowledgment. They say, “He is this and that good.” He says that it is understood from that.

“Hazrat Mahdi’s (as) face will shine like golden-bronze. It will be so bright that the true color of his skin will not be able to be seen.” His skin is that bright. “Hazrat Mahdi (as)’s face is sometimes a light color.” A lighter white color. “And sometimes shines like gold.” So what does gold-like mean? Wheat color. “Sometimes it is darker and bright like the moon.” Sometimes his color gets darker, more reddish. Maybe because of the sun’s effect.

“Hz. Mahdi (as) is mild”, so he is balanced, “he has beautiful face and hair,” look his hair is also beautiful. “He has a thin nose.” So his nose is not large, it is thin. “And he has a young man's appearance  with a wide face.” His face is also wide. Look now, his face and forehead are wide. What does it mean? It means he has a large head, because his forehead is wide, his face is wide. Since his face is mild and straight, then his head is large. He has a large head. Our Prophet (saas)’s head was also large. The heads of the prophets are all large. Allah creates it like that.

“The spot on Hazrat Mahdi (as)’s cheek is a  bump like that on the Prophet Moses (pbuh)” a little bumpy “and bright like the stars.” What does it mean? It is not black. It is light colored. A color like skin tone, insha’Allah.

Look at these details, “Shoulder tip bone is also gentle.” Truly the bones of some people are hard as stone . Some people have younger bones. It is understood that he or she is young. Bones get harder with age; it is understood. So the skin, bone structure and flesh tissues are separate. May Allah forbid. Of course, it is a means to give up the life of this world. For example, their bones and ribs can be seen. It is seen. This happens in both men and women. They get harder. Flesh slides on the bones; it is separate from the bones. The skin and the bones are separate. May Allah forbid. When one touches it, it can be felt. Insha’Allah.

Allah has commanded the following about them; "...they have been true to the contract they made with Allah." The verse of the Qur'an refers to the students of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) he says. "They have been true to the contract they made with Allah." (Surat al-Ahzab; 23)  Those students of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) who  show devotion to him, will be madly devoted to him with the love of Allah up until the very end. Unbelievers will imprison Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh), they will beat him, slander him, defame him but the students of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will never give up their cause. They will also try to oppress Hazrat Mahdi's (pbuh) students. Hypocrite men and women, unbelieving  men and women will hold together with the idolaters; by forming an alliance with idolater men and women will attack Muslims slobberingly like rabid dogs. But they will not be able to do anything. "Mountains will appear in front of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) and he will find his way from those mountains and pass by," he [our Prophet (saas)] says in the hadiths.

The students of the Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) and the Prophet Jesus Messiah (pbuh)  will stop the war; they stop the fight.  People always ask for dissension. Satan is the one who instills the mindset that states; "Let us chop up Jews, let us crash down Christians, let us override communists, let us cut off the Buddhists, let us cut Shia and Alewites, let us cut Wahabis." This mindset wants to draw us to the same mindset towards the Jews and Christians; towards the irreligious, towards the idolaters, towards the Bektashis and Alewites. Now should I abide by the Qur'an, or by these people? To which explanations should I abide by? Why are you insistently trying to drag me into this mindset? I mean am I to say "Allah has taken the light out of them, they are dark people," about the Shia? Should we say these about Alewites, Bektashis and Wahabis? Am I supposed to say "May Allah destroy them all!" about the Iranian state? Am I to want my brothers in Iran be destroyed? There are some people who really say these anyway.  And people with that mentality attempt to advise me. Look he is talking about chopping off people like leeks. How does one chop leeks? You put them on one and other and chop them all up. Look, these people are saying that Shia and Wahabis should be put one over the other and be chopped up. So these people say that there should be a bloodbath. I mean they say that this is what best suits a Muslim. Is that what the Qur'an teaches us? Or does the Qur'an teach us compassion and mercy? Does the Qur'an teach us to be anti-blood? The system of the Mahdi is anti-blood. Look; Mahdi adh-Dam. Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) who stops the bloodshed. We are abiding by the system of the Mahdi. So do not vainly attempt to propagate cruelty. Do not vainly make the propaganda of persecution.  You would then be an instrument of satan, you would be deceived by the plot of the satan. Pull yourselves together. Compassion, mercy, rationalism, art, science; we will act on these. Otherwise Allah would destroy Muslims, He would give trouble to them. And He did give scourges on them up until now. When this is done, when the right and beautiful things are done, Islam will dominate the whole world. And that will happen and that is happening, and you do see it happening, insha'Allah. Prosperity cannot be attained through persecution.  The lower-self always wants war, that is what I have said. The lower-self wants bloodshed, lower-self wants aggressiveness. Only strong-willed, clever people could be against war and against violence. It is difficult to want peace insistently. It would be difficult for the lower-self. Faithful and smart people want peace. They insistently ask for peace. Forgiveness is difficult. Devout people want forgiveness. Being mild-mannered and loving is not that easy. The human soul is open to hatred. Only with profound faith does love settle in people's hearts. Wherever we go, whomever we talk to we see that they instantly want war all over the world. We go to Greece. For instance they instantly revolt against their government. They attack the police with sticks and bats in their hands. What does the PKK do? They are determined to martyr everyone who is a Turk- Turkish police, Turkish soldiers. That is because they are not able to understand anything else. And that is going on very fast and it is continuously increasing, Masha'Allah.   

(In response to the viewer's question; "How will Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) remove religious schools?")

He will consult scholars. He will have a commission, a commission of scholars. But that does not happen through mere knowledge. Inspiration is required for that. Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) has inherent (wahbi) knowledge. The imams of the four religious schools, they all have made different judgments.  Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will say which is the most accurate judgment through the inspiration of Allah, insha'Allah. It will be like the Age of Bliss insha'Allah. Or else as knowledge goes, Abu Hanafi, Imam Shafi, Imam Hanbal are all amazing scholars. But the judicial opinions of those four are all different. Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) puts forth the most accurate of these four judicial opinions.  That means it doesn't end with attained [kasbi] knowledge; that means there is the need for inherent [wahbi] knowledge. There is the need for a special knowledge, insha'Allah. 

Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) is an individual born from a mother and a father; he is visible to the eye, he is born from a mother and a father and then he grows older. He will have his childhood years. He will be born in a big city. He will have his youth. Later on he will come to Istanbul. He will communicate the religion, he will carry out activities. I am recounting these according to what Bediuzzaman has said, according to the words of Bediuzzaman Said Nursi. He will intellectually raze Darwinism and materialism to the ground. He [Said Nursi] says "His scientific struggle will last 40 years. Then all the Muslims will unite and help him. And he will then lead the way to the right and truth."

(In response to the question "Will the Companions of the Cave come back? ")

There is no such provision in the Qur'an referring to that. I mean the Companions of the Cave are mentioned in the hadiths. They are told to be the helpers of the Prophet Jesus (pbuh) and Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh). That might be. I mean for instance if there comes a person who has amnesia; it might be possible to have a few such people, I mean that would not remove the free will of the mind. Or he might be someone coming from a place we do not know. And he says "I am this and that person." Allah gives him a memory about his past. He might think that he has a past. But it might be that he had just been created in that moment. He might be unaware. Allah creates him with his past. He would not be aware of it. For instance he might be one of the Companions of the Cave. Allah gives him a memory about his past when he wakes up one day and it might be a reasonable memory. He might thus assume that he is a person living in this century, but he might be a person from centuries back and he wouldn't be aware.  

The love of our Shia and Jaferite brothers for Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) is perfect. So is the love of the Alewites. The love Bektashis have is also very beautiful. Our Sunni brothers have such a profound love as well but the love for Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) is a bit more placid at certain points in our Sunni brothers. But it is very fervent in our Shia, Jaferite and Alewite brothers. And that is how it should actually be. They are doing the right thing. They are doing the beautiful thing , masha'Allah. Their songs about Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) are very nice as well.  

(Regarding their belief about the invisible Mahdi)

This is what we regard as dangerous. Now a man can come up and say; "I have heard the voice of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) because I have a spiritual insight. I've heard his voice, I've seen his face. He gave me instructions. He told me to raze all those Sunnis, Wahabis, all of them, to the ground.   Annihilate Jews, Christians, all of them. This is the command of Allah upon you." If that voice, that voice coming from the unseen says all these things. What will happen? Would the man be disobeying Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh)? What is he to do? He would say; "I've heard so, a voice came to me and I've done what is necessary to be done." There are such people. They go and kill their mothers and fathers and say; "I've heard such a voice coming from the unseen. The voice told me to kill my mother and father and so I  killed them."  There are many such cases. Now this one would be another example of the same mentality. This is the danger that we've been talking about, this is what we are explaining.  

Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) is an ordinary individual who has been born from a mother and a father, who has studied in the primary school, in the secondary school, in high school, who lives a normal life, who eats and drinks, who gets ill, who dies, who is imprisoned, who is insulted, who is slandered. He is a man of suffering, this is the characteristic of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) and it is also mentioned in the hadiths. How can you ever imprison an invisible Mahdi? Only his voice is heard he is not there. Would a court try his voice? Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will be tried, he will be imprisoned. Would only his voice come to the judge? Would they only take away his voice with the police? Hazrat Mahdi will be tried in front of a judge. He will be arrested, he will be imprisoned. There is the hadith of our Prophet (saas).  "The image of his face"; are they going to imprison only the image of his face? Will they imprison only his voice? How would that happen? Would his voice endure sufferings? We see how fierce this trouble is from this example, and this is the confirmation of what we've been saying. I mean this danger has escaped from observation for hundreds of years and it has not been considered as important. But the time of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) has come. Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) has come. This is a grave dissension. It is a dissension in the face of the hadiths of our Prophet (saas), and in the face of the Qur'an as well. Which Prophet has ever come as a voice, which saintly person has ever come as a voice, or as an image? The Messenger of Allah (saas) is the biggest Mahdi.  

He was born from a mother and a father, he  had his childhood, he grew up, he has been given Prophethood, he entered a war, they had broken his blessed tooth. He had been insulted, he had been slandered, he suffered ordeals, he has been tested and was martyred, passed away in the end. The Prophet Joseph (pbuh) was a child, he grew up, he had been put into a well, he had been put into prison, he suffered ordeals and then passed away. Actually the lives of guides end generally in martyrdom. Prophets pass away as martyrs as well. And now the Mahdi that these friends are talking about is only an image. Everyone knows that such a Mahdi would never come. I mean, why is there the need for this? Why did they ever develop such an idea?  When the hadiths of our Prophet (saas) is so explicit and clear, when the accounts are so obvious, why did they feel the need for this? My guess is, due to a childish sentiment, they have tried to get into a competition with the Christians and they probably have said; "Let us associate our Mahdi (pbuh)  to the Prophet Jesus (pbuh). So that he will be like a spirit and be invisible. Seeing that the Prophet Jesus (pbuh) is in the Sight of Allah, let us give our Mahdi (pbuh) such a form that he would be like the Prophet Jesus (pbuh) in that respect, so that he would be invisible. As far as I understand, they wanted to give Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) a form like that of the Prophet Jesus (pbuh).  

How was it with the Prophet Joseph (pbuh)? He was born from a mother and a father, we have explained this. What does our Prophet (saas) say for Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh)? "He is like the Prophet Joseph (pbuh)," he says. What does this mean? It means he will be born from a mother and father, he will be imprisoned, he will suffer ordeals, he will be slandered.  Since the persecutors cannot imprison a Mahdi consisting of a voice, how would this happen? It is clearly seen here that the matter is in  deadlock. There is nothing to defend in this. Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) is born in a city, he will endure pain, he will be insulted, he will be slandered. Hazrat Mahdi's (pbuh) whole life will pass with ordeals. That is why his rank will be very high. A Mahdi that will be invisible, one that passes through walls would not be tested. Consequently that would be something removing the free will of mind. Additionally, our Prophet (saas) does not mention such a Mahdi (pbuh). This is in complete contradiction with the hadiths as well. That is because Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) would not suffer any ordeals in such a case. How would someone passing through walls be imprisoned? How would such a Mahdi (pbuh) stay in prison? Why would he stay there?  He would leave there in the form of image, in the form of a voice. He would then be a spirit anyway, so he passes through everywhere. He passes through the walls, he enters houses. He does not enter houses through the doors, he passes through everywhere, according to what these guys say. Then why should he stay in prison? He would just go, why would such a being be imprisoned?  Consequently this claim is contradictory in a thousand and one points, it is a wrong way of thinking that contradicts the hadiths. That would be a very big blow on Islam. Such a belief would be a very big blow. They should be looking for the real Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh). Whoever he is. I would kiss his feet and follow his lead, I would be his orderly. But they should not lead Muslims on to such a wrong path.  

All the prophets have been tested with ordeals. The Prophet Moses (pbuh) faced many difficulties in the desert. He was a little boy. He was born, he grew up. He  struggled with the Pharaoh. All the prophets are like this. Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will also be born, grow up, suffer ordeals, struggle, strive and show an effort and suffer pain. He will be slandered, he will be imprisoned. He will be tested within a thousand and one hardships. That is the reason why Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) was giving his rank.  A Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) who is in the form of voice, who is heard by some as a voice, who is seen as an image to some, who passes through walls, who can talk to everyone all around the world simultaneously would not be a Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) who is tested. Such a person would not be tested. And consequently, no Prophet has ever come like that, no guide has ever come in that form. They should not lead Muslims on to a wrong path.

This belief presents a danger that affects the national security of Turkey as well. And as you know,  because of this, a missile defense system is being built in Turkey. That is a dissension. We will explain this to them intellectually, with the hadiths of our Prophet (saas), and under the light of the Qur'an. We will provide them the opportunity to see the truth of the matter, insha'Allah.

This is the first time in 1400 years people have been speaking so much about Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) not coming. This has never before been seen in the history of Islam. Look, the first time in the history of Islam. Look at Islamic history; so many people have never before said, “Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will not be coming.” This is the first time. This is a major portent. People have never before stood up and said, “I am not the Mahdi” as much as I have. Never in the history of Islam. No-one else has ever stood up and sworn that he is not the Mahdi and that he has not pretensions to the rank. People stand up and openly claim to be the Mahdi. And people who make no such claims would in any case not be involved in the matter. It is those who make such claims who occupy themselves with it. They explicitly say, “I am the Mahdi.” Nobody who does not claim to be the Mahdi has denied being the Mahdi as much as I have. This has never been seen in the history of Islam. And it is quite amazing.   

  

Nobody in the history of Islam has talked about Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) as much as me. This has never been seen in the history of Islam. This is the first time ever. Nobody has ever talked about Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) day and night like I do. Nobody has talked about Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) in such a determined way for so many years. No other community in the Islamic world has dedicated itself so much to Islamic moral values. Someone who dedicates himself so much to Allah and His Book, the Qur’an; because the intensity of your devotion is clearly so great. Nobody else in the world has dedicated himself so much. I know all Islamic communities and societies. I have studied them. There is nothing like it in any of them. And that is amazing.

Almighty Allah has created you so beautifully here. You are all an image, a manifestation of Allah. Now it is the height of bad manners, ingratitude, stupidity and a violation of good conscience for someone to say, “I love you, not Allah.” That image could not even exist unless Allah created it. And Who makes you love it once it has been created? Allah. To Whom does the image belong? To Allah. To Whom does our love belong? To Allah. Can one forget Allah? That is why Almighty Allah says that people are unable to properly appreciate His might. He says that human beings are cruel and ungrateful. Very few people give thanks to Allah, He says in one verse. Allah tells us to give thanks so He will multiply our blessings. Because they all belong to Him. We listen to music, for instance. No what has music got to do with this remote control? Or this metal? Allah creates music directly but uses these as His instruments. Allah lets us listen to music and dance because it will give us pleasure. Allah could have arranged it so that sound would terrify us. It is Allah Who bestows pleasure from it.

Every country that does not betray the system of the Mahdi will be great. Everyone who serves the system of the Mahdi will be great. The government will always be victorious because it is on the path of the Mahdi. It will always endure, insha’Allah. You are doing the most sensible and best thing. My congratulations. Anyone who fights against the way of the Mahdi will be defeated, ruined. I can tell them that. This is Allah’s promise. It appears explicitly in the Torah. Some parts of the Torah have been corrupted and conflict with the Qur’an. We can see that. But there are many parts that have not been corrupted. Allah is sending a message in the Qur’an. Look at global sovereignty, He says. Look at the Qur’an. Look at the Psalms, He says. And when we look, we see the way of the Mahdi, insha’Allah.   

  

“He swears by that truth,” the Mahdi.  “He is a lion and he who is known as the lion is loving.” His name is Lion, but he is very loving, he says. “Morning describes the compassion that refers to Messiah [Mahdi].The Gospel says “you lie down till morning, until Messiah [Mahdi], son of David, who is the light of compassion and is called the lion emerges in the morning.” The dawn of Islam, insha’Allah.   

  

“A man (Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will appear from Transoxania,” where the Mahdi’s ancestors come from. The Caucasus, regions inhabited by Turks. “He will be called Al-Haris ibn al-Harras.” Haris, meaning Lion, son of the lion, in other words. “Haydar al-Karrar,” the lion of Allah who turns and fights. “Ali Haydar Murtadha,” my ancestor’s nickname.   

  

The system of the Mahdi will bestow liberty and joy on young girls, and a spirit of love and depth of soul and joy on young boys. Young people are very pessimistic, I see. I look at what is happening on Facebook and everywhere. They are very pessimistic and world-weary. Some try to calm themselves with cigarettes and others with even worse things, may Allah forbid. They are about to burst. They are unwilling to go out or talk to anyone since love has been taken from the world. Most of them suffer from having no true friends. But everyone will be friends in the time of the way of the Mahdi. It will be so easy for people to love one another. There just has to be someone at their head. A rational person; the Mahdi, in other words. He will enable everyone to love and be friends with everyone else. That is easy. But that spirit, that electricity cannot form without a leader at their head.

An intense lack of love has enfolded the world. The world is literally shouting out “The Mahdi! The Mahdi!” The way that people cry for a lifeguard or for help when someone is dying. Now the cry is for “The Mahdi,” instead of “Help!” Insha’Allah.  The Mahdi is the person, together with his followers, whom Allah will make His instruments in salvation, insha’Allah.

Ayyub ibn Noah relates; “There will be correspondence about the Mahdi.” Look, messages on the internet, Facebook and Twitter. “People will point to him with their fingers. They will ask him questions. And they will try and kill him,” he says of the Mahdi (pbuh). They have tried to kill this poor brother of yours nine times. That is manifested in me because I am a follower of the Mahdi. Roses on a bush resemble one another.   

  

“When people ask him questions, he will answer at once.” The Mahdi, he says. “If they are silent in his presence, he will begin speaking of his own accord.” This means that some people will be silent before him. This was narrated from Abu Basr. “By what sign can the Imam Mahdi be known? He said, the Imam Mahdi has a number of characteristics that enable him to be known. When asked a question, he will answer at once. If they are silent in his presence, he will begin speaking. He will speak to people in the future. He will speak to people in all languages.” So the blessed one’s works will be translated into 60-65 languages.   

  

“He will speak to people in the future.” Maybe from the works of Bediuzzaman. “He will speak with inspiration from Allah.” Allah will inspire the Mahdi to speak, he says. “He will appear.” He will make him visible. “And he will illuminate the truth. He will reject the cunning of the cunning.” Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh). “He will be the voice of the wretched.” The poor, the needy, will tell him their troubles. And he will be their voice. It will spread all around. “The Imam Mahdi will cleanse people of their sins.” With the Qur’an, insha’Allah. By warning them. “Mildness is one of his characteristics,” says our Prophet (saas). “The Mahdi will attract the hatred of the hypocrites.” The hypocrites will loathe the Mahdi (pbuh). “He will be instrumental in the destruction of the unbelievers.” Through knowledge and learning. “The Mahdi is the only man of his time.” He says there is no-one but him. “Nobody can attain his level. No scholar is comparable to his stature,” he says of the Mahdi (pbuh). “There is no alternative to him.” There is none like him. “He will become evident with the title of virtue. All virtues will be gathered together in the Mahdi, but not through work and effort.” In other words, this is not the result of hard work. “These virtues given him by the Almighty Bestower, Allah, are characteristics unique to him.” These attributes cannot be acquired by hard work so one can become the Mahdi, he says. Our Prophet (saas) says that Allah has already bestowed these in destiny. “The Mahdi is a scholar.” “Rasulullah’s (saas) attribute of calling people [to faith] has been especially entrusted to him, and the duty of calling people [to faith] has been left to him.” “He is descended from the immaculate line of Rasulullah.”   

  

“His learning is advanced and his gentleness is without flaw.” He has gentleness. “He is powerful in faith and learned in politics.” He evaluates politics most intelligently. His attitude is warm and knowledgeable and he has a mastery of politics. He is no vulgar politician. His conception of politics favors the truth. With knowledge and maturity. He is entirely on the side of truth and goodness. “It is compulsory to obey him,” says our Prophet (saas). “The Mahdi advises the servants of Allah. He is the protector of Allah’s religion.”   

  

“When Almighty Allah selects one of his servants to manage the affairs of his other servants, He will open his breast in such a way that he can succeed in this task, and place source of wisdom in his heart and inspire him with such learning that from then on he will have no trouble answering any question, and he will never stray from the truth and no inaccurate reply will ever leave his mouth.” The blessed one will always give an accurate answer. My similarity to him is that I am in his shadow. “In that regard, the person charged by Allah with managing the affairs of His servants is quite without guile,” in his decrees. “He has been supported by Allah. He has granted him success and confirmed him.” The hadith says there is a confirming angel everywhere. “He is guaranteed against errors, slips and mistakes.” In other words, the Prophet (saas) says he will not make mistakes. “Allah will make him so special in this business that his flawless behavior will bear witness to His creations. In terms of Allah’s proofs, Allah has created him in that way. “He (the Mahdi) is the bridle of the people, the leader of the religion, the order of Muslims, the mainstay of the world and the honor of believers. He will impose the states ordained by Allah. He will defend the religion of Allah. He will call people to the religion of our Lord, with wisdom and fine advice and definitive proof.” He will call on people to believe using photographs and documents and scientific evidence.   

  

“The Imam (the Mahdi) will illuminate the whole world like a Sun rising on the horizon.” The Messenger of Allah (saas) says he will illuminate the world. “The imam is a shining new moon, a bright wax, a light shedding illumination, a star lighting the way in the darkness, in the dark streets of the cities, in the depths of the desert and the whirlpools of the oceans,” he says.   

  

“The imam is fresh water for the thirsty, a guide to the true path and a savior who saves without being destroyed. The imam is a guiding torch lit on a high place for the lost to find their way.” “He who sees that fire will find his way,” he says. “He is warm for those caught in the freezing cold. He is a trustworthy guide through dangerous crossings. He who departs from his will certainly be destroyed,” says our Prophet (saas). Whoever strays from him will be destroyed, insha’Allah.   

  

“The imam (the Mahdi) is a cloud causing rain to fall. He is a falling rain. He is a light-giving sun. He is like a sky serving as a roof and an earth serving as a floor. He is sharp-sighted, a rose garden whose leaves and branches are all intermingled. The imam is a warm friend and companion, a loving father, a blood brother and a mother considerate of her children,” that is how affectionate he is to all Muslims. “He is a refuge for the servants of Allah when disaster strikes from all directions.” The Imam Mahdi (pbuh).

Contrary to popular belief, the global reign of Islam is not something that will take a very long time. Islam will reign across the world within a few months of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) appearing. Our brothers imagine that a very long time will pass. For example, housing works in the whole Islamic world will be completed in 2-3 years. Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will work unbelievably fast. Not at all like people imagine. He and the Prophet Jesus, the Messiah, will spend 7 or 9 years together. There are many hadiths about that. The time they will spend together in global dominion. There are other differing accounts, of course. Some say 9 or 19. Like the Prophet Jacob (pbuh), Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will be very long-lived, insha’Allah. Or like the Prophet Abraham (pbuh), insha’Allah. They all served Islam at the age of 70, 80, 90 or 100, insha’Allah. For example, the Prophet Moses (pbuh) served Islam until the age of 120. In a very firm and healthy state. That was Allah’s decision. The Qur’an emphasizes those periods of theirs.

Allah, Allah, SubhanAllah, the earth has begun stirring. The earth wants the Mahdi and Jesus the Messiah. “I will not be still until my lord [Mahdi] comes,” the earth says. And this suffering will go on and on. Until the appearance of Muhammad the Mahdi, a descendant of the Messenger of Allah (saas), my own forebear. Scholars and teachers have one by one begun saying, “The Mahdi will not come.” Those who until yesterday were making a loud noise and saying the Mahdi will come, have now begun saying, in whole groups and communities, that he will not. As they have begun saying the Mahdi will not come, so the earth has begun stirring, has begun stirring even further. Allah says that people are destined to say that the Mahdi will not come. “This is a sign of the Mahdi,” he says. He says, “I will make you into a sign of the Mahdi.” He says He will use the opponents of the Mahdi as a sign of the Mahdi. And they submit to Allah. He turns the opponents of the Mahdi into a sign of the coming of the Mahdi. When they say that the Mahdi will not appear, they imagine he will not appear. But when they say that, they are just giving rise to another portent of the coming of the Mahdi. Masha’Allah, alhamdulillah.   

What have I been saying? Scholars have been saying let us unite for Islamic Unity, let us act together, let us establish Islamic Unity, for around a hundred years now. Has it happened? No. Why not? Because the matter lies with the Mahdi. Allah is not allowing it. It is impossible without the Mahdi, so they are wasting their time. People say he will be a collective personality. But that leads to division and suffering. If they declare war on Allah's destiny, then Allah will defeat them. Allah will do what He says; they must follow the Mahdi. If they say, “No, we will not obey him,” then Allah will respond accordingly. The Islamic world must be very determined on this. They must obey the words of the Messenger of Allah (saas) and Allah. They are not his words, as Gabriel says them, and Allah tells Gabriel what to say. This is knowledge stemming from revelation. Insha’Allah. If they do not follow the Mahdi, then sufferings will persist in the Islamic World

First they say, “The Mahdi (pbuh) will come.” Then they despair, some people, from what I can tell. But this also appears in the Qur’an. They wait and wait. And after a long time they say, “Allah’s promise is hollow.” There is a verse about it, a verse of the Qur’an. They say “Allah and His messenger have deceived us, they lied,” they say. But they wait first. They do this as time goes by. Because they cannot be patient long enough.   

  

People will be so fed up before the appearance of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) that the words “The Mahdi (pbuh) will not be coming” will be very common. This is a sign of the coming of the Mahdi (pbuh). Scholars are abandoning Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) one by one. “Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will not come, Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will not come...” But our Prophet (saas) says that “my descendant the Mahdi” will appear when these denials are most intense. This is confirmation of both verses and hadiths. The Mahdi (pbuh) being abandoned by scholars is a sign of his coming. This is also a confirmation of the wisdom of Allah.   

  

Tornados in America, and another earthquake in Turkey. Everywhere in the world is being buffeted. Disasters are growing all the time. The Earth is itself a living thing. The Earth is troubled because Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) has not appeared. There is pain and suffering everywhere. This is how the Earth is expressing its unease. But the Earth will find peace when Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) appears, it will calm down.  It was the same in Noah’s Flood. Almighty Allah says, “Earth, swallow up your water!’ and, ‘Heaven, hold back your rain!’” They will immediately heed the word of Allah and find peace. By the command of Almighty Allah these disasters will immediately come to an end with the appearance of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh). The earth and sky will calm down and these disasters will end, insha’Allah.   

  

Our Prophet (saas) says, “when people are in despair.” Look, this is a secret of the test. People are optimistic for a certain time. Then they become weak. Some people may hold out for one year, and others for two, and some for 20, but still cannot hold out for ever. Some people can hold out. They have great determination. “Allah sends Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) when people are in despair and say there is no such thing as Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh),” our Prophet (saas) says. This is on the rise at the moment. Commentators, scholars and teachers have all begun saying “There is no Mahdi.” “Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will appear when people have lost hope of his coming,” says our Prophet (saas). Why is that? To increase Hazrat Mahdi’s (pbuh) merit and that of his followers. Because if you cannot be optimistic and cannot display fortitude and loyalty, then you fail the test. These people have been unable to display patience and loyalty. Who does show patience and loyalty? Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) and his followers. So they will be beloved in this world and the hereafter because of their patience and loyalty.   

  

Our Prophet (saas) says of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) that, “Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will appear with my banner, when troubles rain down on people’s heads, and when hope in his coming has been abandoned.” Revolutions. Fighting, upheaval, trials, defamation, disease, earthquakes, tornadoes, civil war and all that kind of thing. This is to raise the level of merit earned to the highest degree. Otherwise, if everyone said that Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will appear, then the merit earned when he does so will be very low. But it is highly acceptable to strive for Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) and then for him to appear when all hope is lost.   

  

“The appearance of this ruler, the Mahdi (pbuh), has been greatly delayed. So your hearts have been troubled.” Look, your hearts have been troubled. So it has that effect on people. “We are saddened because of deep grief,” he says. “He said; he will appear when this coming was more hopeless and when sorrow is very great.” He says you will be more saddened than you imagined. “This coming was more hopeless,” in other words, there is no more hope of it. He will not appear, they say. “He will appear when this sorrow is very great.” That time will be more acceptable. Look there are several hadiths about it, since it is such an important subject. “The appearance of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) depends of despair and sorrow.” People have fallen into sorrow and despair. “The Mahdi (pbuh), my descendant, will appear in a climate when people say the Mahdi (pbuh) will not come and there will be no Islamic Union,” says our Prophet (saas).   

  

If I see Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh), what will I say to him if I have a positive opinion? My dear teacher and brother, I will say. Of course, Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) is not a prophet. He communicates the message. He is a guide, the greatest guide of all. The greatest guide there has ever been. Our Prophet (saas) is the greatest prophet there has ever been, and Hazrat Mahdi (saas) is the greatest guide. Look, the fact that such a great prophet as the Prophet Jesus (pbuh) will be his deputy shows us his greatness. “You will be Hazrat Mahdi’s (pbuh) deputy,” he says. The Prophet Jesus (pbuh) is Hazrat Mahdi’s (pbuh) deputy. So you can imagine his status. Our Prophet (saas) says of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh), “He will be superior to some prophets.” The Prophet (saas) says that Abu Bakr (pbuh) and Umar (pbuh) cannot be superior to him. The Companions are bemused. So the Prophet (saas) says, “And he is even superior to some prophets.”

Allah asks the Mahdi in the hidden world. He says in the Torah that “You will suffer greatly.” “Do you accept the role of Mahdi?” He asks. And he replies, “O Lord, I accept with pride.” Three times. Then Almighty Allah sends the Mahdi down to this world. He comes into this world by being born to a mother and father, insha’Allah. He will suffer. He promised. There is a verse about it; Allah receives promises from the prophets in the other world. Allah says in one verse that; “When We made a covenant with all the Prophets – with you and with Noah and Abraham and Moses and Jesus son of Maryam – We made a binding covenant with them,..”   

  

In another He says, “Remember when Allah made a covenant with the Prophets: ‘Now that We have given you a share of the Book and Wisdom, and then a messenger [Mahdi] comes to you confirming what is with you, you must believe in him and help him.’ He asked, ‘Do you agree and undertake my commission on that condition?’” And the prophets say,  ‘We agree.’   

  

 “We will do it, we will help when he comes.” At the same time, the verse points to the work to be performed by the Prophet Jesus (pbuh) and Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh). Because the covenant is made. The Prophet Jesus (pbuh) makes the covenant. A messenger has come. And he will assist him. The messenger is the Mahdi. How will he help? By acting as his deputy. He promised Allah, and he will redeem that promise.

Allah will work marvels so people will think about the way of the Mahdi and the appearance of Jesus the Messiah (pbuh). He [the Prophet (saas)] says there will be marvels before the appearance of Jesus the Messiah (pbuh). And his coming and appearance are two different things. That is in the Gospel, too. He says that earthquakes will multiply as a sign of my appearance. A hitherto unseen rise in the number of earthquakes is also a sign of the coming of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh). Allah says that the Torah and the Zabur contain provisions about global prevalence [of Islam]. When we look we see they refer to the Mahdi (pbuh). The Letters of Imam Rabbani and the complete catechism of Huseyin Hilmi Isik inclusively relate that Hazrat Mahdi (as) will not be a follower of any Islamic order, any community. It is related that, “He will come from the path of the Prophet and not from the way of an Islamic order.” Hazrat Mahdi (as) has no relation whatsoever with any order. He is not a member of an Islamic school. Imam Rabbani says that Jesus (as) possesses this attribute as well and the other person is Hazrat Mahdi (as). He says that Hazrat Omar (ra) and Hazrat Abu Bakr, Hazrat Uthman (ra) and Hazrat Ali (as) were also so. In this case, there is a direct relationship with no need for a sheikh or another person. There is direct relationship to Allah’s messenger (saas). In the case of an Islamic school, there needs to be a lineage. In the case of Jesus (as), it is said that he has a relationship by way of prophethood. That is why Jesus (as) is not affliated with an Islamic order. Both of them do not have spiritual teachers. Our Prophet (saas) says: According to what Hasan bin Munzir Zurara related, Imam Jafari Sadiq (saas) related thus at the end: “I swear on the name of Allah that your Owner will appear at the end and HE WILL NOT OBEY ANYONE. (Sheikh Muhammad bin Ibrahim Numani, Gaybah Numani, p. 402)   

  

Ibrahim bin Omar Yamani says: Imam Abu Abdullah relates thus: “When the Qaim stands up, HE WILL APPEAR PAYING NOONE’S ALLEGIANCE.”   (Sheikh Muhammad bin Ibrahim-I Numani, Gaybah Numani, p.218-219)   

  

He submits allegiance to no one. If a person is affliated with a certain Islamic school or spiritual teacher, it is unlikely for him to be the Mahdi (as). Being  not attached to a spiritual teacher is one of the portents of being Mahdi.   

  

 Hisham bin Sâlim says: Imam Abu Abdullah aleyhisselam states: “When the Qaim stands up, HE WILL HAVE NO ONE’S PACT, TESTAMENT AND ALLEGIANCE ON HIS NECK.” (Sheikh Muhammad bin Ibrahim Numani, Gaybah Numani, p.219)

In my view the presence of the Mahdi (pbuh) will be felt. There is no question of that not being understood. There was a problem of being in Bediuzzaman’s time but not recognizing him. What does “I am not sure” mean? If I were in Bediuzzaman’s time, I would dedicate my life to serving him. I would not have allowed him to be tortured, by the law of Allah. They could not have done it. He would have been served really well. Could one say “I am not sure” on seeing Bediuzzaman? “I am in two minds, he looks like him, but then again he does not.” It is clear that he was the Mahdi of that time. A five-year-old could recognize him. They deliberately misunderstanding. How could he not be recognized? There is no question of his not being recognized. For example, people say not to discuss what the way of the Mahdi is. Why should they ban the reading of the Treatise of Light? Look, they are 100% sure that the Mahdi has appeared, not just 99%. They are 100% sure. That has never been seen before. They say people should not read the parts of the Treatise of Light concerning the Mahdi, some 300 pages. If you talk about a meeting, they tell you not to mention this subject. You cannot mention the hadiths or make any statements. They raise a chorus, those who take an interest, and shout out loud. “The Mahdi (pbuh) will not come! The Mahdi (pbuh) will not come.” Never in the 1400 years of Islam have so many people said the Mahdi will not be coming. A chorus of tens or hundreds of thousands, millions of people, saying, “The Mahdi will not come.” Never before. People have always said the Mahdi will be coming. One or two people in corners may have said the Mahdi will not be coming. But these have always been regarded as rather eccentric. Such a mass of people saying that the Mahdi will not come is a characteristic of the End Times, and Rasulullah (saas) says this is one of the main portents of his appearing. “Many people in the End Times will say that the Mahdi (pbuh) will not come,” he says. Rasulullah (saas) says that “the Mahdi (pbuh) will appear in the midst of all this talk.” “The Mahdi (pbuh) is one of my children,” he says.

Do you agree?” “I accept with pride, O Lord,” he replies. Allah later sends Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) to the world. If an ordinary person, someone from the society of ignorance, were to undergo Hazrat Mahdi’s (pbuh) sufferings for just one day, he might deny Allah, may He forbid. One day. While Allah fans his love, He will cause that weak-minded person to lose faith. Look, this is the secret of the test. The same. You take the same man, then another man comes and causes him to lose his faith, but with Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh), he incites the love of Allah. That is why Allah loves Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) very much. That is how it is with Jesus the Messiah (pbuh), too. He is a firm believer in Allah, with a huge and piercing faith. He has absolute faith. He never abandons it   

  

The way of the Mahdi is a most sincere activity. Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) is a man of suffering. Bediüzzaman says, “That individual of the End Times may perhaps be recognized through the light of faith.” Maybe, through the light of faith. People may think the best. Some of my brothers think the best of me, imagining I might be the Mahdi. That may sometimes come to one’s mind. One may wonder, “Could I be the Mahdi?” It may come to many Muslims’ minds. That is not a crime, it is something necessary. A Muslim prays to Allah to make pre-eminent among those who have faithfulness. There is a verse about it. In other words, every man and woman must pray to be like Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh). But if one says, “I am the Mahdi, I am the person of the End Times, I will go to paradise,” then that is unbelief and one thus abandons the faith. But thinking the best is always possible. People say, “The idea of the way of the Mahdi has come down from ancient religions, and these beliefs have been corrupted.” Muslims actually say this. “Belief in the Messiah is a Jewish belief,” they say. “Belief in the Messiah has come down from Christianity,” they say. “It has also been corrupted in the Zabur,” they say. But Allah says “We wrote that My servants who are righteous who will inherit the earth.” Where? In the Zabur, in the Torah. And when we look we see it is the Mahdi who reigns, when we look at the Torah. So why do you regard it as an offense? You say the belief in the Mahdi has come down from the Torah. Allah related an existing belief to the Prophet Noah (pbuh), and to Abraham (pbuh) and to Moses (pbuh) and to Jesus (pbuh). Allah also makes this clear in the Qur’an. He says, “We wrote that My servants who are righteous who will inherit the earth.” Where? On the Zabur, in the Torah. We look at that section and see that it talks about the Mahdi (pbuh). We see that the righteous people are Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) and his followers. So much for the Qur’an not referring to the way of the Mahdi! It is in there. You say it is a belief come down from Judaism. Allah Himself says it exists in Judaism. He says He has written it in the Zabur. So what you are saying is true, but Allah Himself says it. But you are saying it is a lie, whereas Allah says it is true. You say it is a fabrication, but Allah says, “It is not a fabrication, it is the truth.” Whom should we believe? Jewish sources say the Mahdi (pbuh) will appear from Istanbul. Judaic sources dating back 3000 years. “Just as Moses, after revealing himself to his brethren in Egypt and announcing them to that deliverance was near” after making his presence felt and saying that the reign of Islam was nigh, “was forced to go into hiding for a time,…” The Mahdi (pbuh) will remain hidden. His time of seclusion is being described. “so also will Messiah be forced to hide himself after the first revelations.” He will remain hidden. Our Prophet (pbuh) also says, “The Mahdi (pbuh) will remain hidden.” It is the same, do you see? (Numbers Rabbah, Chap. II; Song of Songs Rabbah, (2:9); Pesikta Rabbathi, Chap. 36)   

  

Song of Songs 2/9. “Just as Moses was raised in the House of Pharaoh in Egypt,” It will happen in Istanbul. Where there are Darwinists and materialists. It says it will be in Istanbul. “Both had to appear and then hide.” He will closely resemble the Prophet Moses (pbuh). In the hadiths, our Prophet (pbuh) says he will resemble the Prophet Moses (pbuh) in that respect. “He will remain concealed like the Prophet Moses (pbuh),” he says in a hadith. Look, a book dating back 3000 years says the Prophet Moses (pbuh) will be concealed, insha’Allah. “To be sure, the “light of the Messiah” which is to shine wondrously into the world, is not always seen as breaking in with complete suddenness;” It says he will not appear all at once, the Mahdi (pbuh). “it may become visible by gradations and stages...” He will appear gradually, it says. “It is told of Rabbi Hiyya and Rabbi Simeon that they walked in the valley of Arbela early in the morning and saw the dawn breaking on the horizon. Thereupon Rabbi Hiyya said: So too is Israel’s redemption [through King Messiah]; at first it will be only very slightly visible, then it will shine forth more brightly and only afterwards will it break forth in all of its glory.” What does Bediüzzaman say? “Even if there is a false dawn, the true dawn will appear in 30-40 years’ time.” The Sun will appear, he says. What does it say here? There will be a false dawn first. The first rays of the Sun will be seen, then will com the true dawn, the Sun. The Torah says what Bediüzzaman said 3000 years later. The same. “Just as Moses was raised in the House of Pharaoh in Egypt, so the Messiah will be in Rome. Both had to appear and then hide.   

  

In the same way that Moses (pbuh) was raised in the house of Pharaoh, among the enemies of his own people, the Messiah (pbuh)  will grow up in the city of Rome, in Istanbul.” In other words, somewhere in which people live by Darwinism and materialism. He will strive against Darwinism and materialist belief.   

  

Istanbul is the place of saintly figures, but also one of dajjals. The Torah notes this fact. Look, a blessed individual such as the Mahdi (pbuh) is there, but there are also people like satan there, the supporters of the antichrist. “Ben Levi meets the Prophet Elias and asks, ‘Where can I find Moshe, the Mahdi (pbuh)?’ Elias replies, ‘go to the gate of Rome, of Istanbul’.” Masha’Allah, Topkapı. Istanbul has a number of gates. “You will find him there.” You will find him in Istanbul, he says. How many years ago? Three thousand years.

But now our Prophet (saas) is saying this himself. He says that Hazrat Mahdi (as) is mentioned in the Torah and the Psalm. Our Prophet (saas) is saying this himself. We are in the position to say this using the words of our Prophet (saas). We will listen to that word, we will listen to the word of our Prophet (saas) because look, he is saying, “King Messiah will be the master of the world.” He will reign over the whole world. Our Prophet (saas) reigned over a certain part of the world in his time. And there will only remain one religion. No religion other than Islam will remain.

They distort it even though the Prophet Aaron (pbuh) is there. Then the Prophet Moses (pbuh) comes and puts them right. That is the importance of the way of the Mahdi. Happiness spreads through him. Allah makes him His instrument. The Prophet Jesus (pbuh) comes. But his followers have doubts. There is the Injil. Allah says, “When Jesus sensed unbelief on their part, he said, ‘Who will be my helpers to Allah?’ People are like that. Fifty-fifty. They lose their reason in a moment. The Mahdi is the person who will turn this 50 into 51. Or we might say 56. Because 55 is just the middle. Insha’Allah.   

  

Our Prophet (pbuh) has noted this subject in the time of the Mahdi. It is an important issue that has never applied before. People will insist on telling the Mahdi, “You are the Mahdi.” In huge numbers. In response, he will say, “I am not the Mahdi.” They will keep forcing him to deny he is the Mahdi. They will say he is, and he will insist that he is not. He says they will list all the portents, and say that he must be the Mahdi because of this and that sign. This means the Mahdi will be known by signs. We can see that from the hadiths. This and that sign, he says. He will insist that he is not the Mahdi, but they will eventually make him accept the role of leader and of imam, he says. But he will still deny he is the Mahdi.

Why is it of no concern? Our Prophet (pbuh) speaks of it. He reveals in detail where he will come from and what he will do. That is a most terrible thing to say. It is a disregarding of hundreds of the hadiths of our Prophet (pbuh). Did our Prophet (pbuh) relate all these hadiths because “it is of no concern to you?” They have been revealed so we can take them seriously and attach importance to them and understand them.   

  

According to the hadiths of Rasulullah (pbuh), the Mahdi and Jesus the Messiah must have appeared by now. There is no alternative. Look, there are eight hadiths about it. Imam Suyuti says it. Rasulullah says that 5600 years of the 7000-year life span of the world have passed. What remains is 1400-1500 years. So everything will happen between those 1400 and 1500 years. Since we are now in 1433, Jesus the Messiah and the Mahdi must already have arrived. That is so clear as to leave no room for any alternative explanation.   

  

 “Belief in the Mahdi is not essential in Sunni belief, but it is essential in Shiism,” he says. But belief in the Mahdi is obligatory. I fail to understand how they make no connection with faith. In other words, it is unlawful in Sunni belief to deny the Mahdi. It is unlawful to deny the return of Jesus the Messiah. This is an article of faith. If someone says that drinking wine is lawful, and you say it is not an article of faith, then that is totally wrong. Islam requires people to abide by what is lawful and unlawful. It is unlawful to deny the Mahdi. It is also unlawful to deny Jesus the Messiah. You must understand that and avoid any discussion that might muddy the waters.

“Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will preserve Islam at the end in the same way that the Prophet (pbuh) preserved it at the beginning. Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will leave no subsequent additions,” says our Prophet (pbuh). Our Prophet (pbuh) says that, as in his own day, the Mahdi (pbuh) will perform all the requirements of the faith but do away with all nonsense added on afterward.   

  

“The enemies of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will be those who imitate scholars of religious law,” some people from among the fanatics. “Because when they see that Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) governs in the opposite manner to the imams of the sects, this will displease them, they will accuse him of not being one of the People of the Sunnah, and will refer to people of perversion and subsequent additions to the faith. But they will be unable to overcome him. The declared foes of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will be scholars of religious law. Because they will have no more prestige among the public. Their knowledge will even decline. Ibn Arabi says this in Al-Futuḥat al-Makkiyya. In other words, Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will be branded as perverse and outside the people of the Sunnah. We can see this in the hadiths of our Prophet (pbuh), as well as in statements by Ibn Arabi. The Prophet (pbuh) says they will say. “He has ruined our religion.” The Mahdi (pbuh) will wish people to live by the Qur’an, but since they are used to living by nonsense, they will say, “He has ruined our religion.”   

  

Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) is someone who is and will be rejected. He will be regarded by the Muslims of the time, by many people, as a deviant, as not being one of the believers. Because he will eliminate the sects.

[Surat As-Sad; 23] "This brother of mine has ninety-nine ewes,.. " Why would Allah mention the number 99? He might as well not mention any number at all. That is because it is not 98, not 97, but 99. That means there will be an important incident in the End Times in the year 99. This refers to that incident insha'Allah. ".. and I have only one." [Surat As-Sad; 26] "David! We have made you a khalif on the earth." We have deemed him the ruler of the world. We have made him a khalif, Allah says. Who is this khalif? Mahdi (pbuh). There is a reference to Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) as well. "..so judge between people with truth.." Mahdi will judge between people with the truth. How is the name of Mahdi mentioned in the Torah? He is referred to as the son of David. Whose line will Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) be coming? He will be coming from the line of the Prophet David (pbuh). The appearance of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will be like the children of Israel. ".. and do not follow your own desires." Meaning do not act on your own mind, on your own thoughts, but act according to the commands of Allah. ".. letting them misguide you from the Way of Allah." If you abide by the bigots. "Those who are misguided from the Way of Allah will receive a harsh punishment." Allah says in the verse that He will give a harsh punishment to those who acts like that on purpose.

Homes were demolished and cities destroyed. All the omens of the Day of Reckoning foretold by our Prophet (saas) have come about. All the portents have come about. Our Prophet (saas) lists all the portents of Hazrat Mahdi (as). Not a single one is missing. They have all come about, without exception. Why do you not speak of those? Because it does not suit them. They speak in the language of the markets, saying, “there is no need to advertise him.” But our Prophet (saas) tells us to hear the glad tidings of Hazrat Mahdi (as). Is that advertising? We tell people of paradise. Is that advertising?

Bediuzzaman describes a characteristic of Hazrat Mahdi (as): “yes, it is well known that his virtue is such that even his enemies witness and recognize it.” They will have to acknowledge Hazrat Mahdi (as); he is generally superior, masha’Allah, they will say. It is not “Adnan Hodja’s Army,” but Allah’s army. All armies will be the armies of Allah. The U.S. Army and all of them will be the armies of Allah. Every single one. They will serve Allah and the Qur’an. There will be no more oppression, torture or suffering. They will all come under the command of Hazrat Mahdi (as). Wars, arms, bombs, rifles, pistols and everything else used to kill and maim will disappear from the face of the earth. Then there will be no more bloodshed. Jesus the Messiah (as) will also “cause no blood to be shed nor waken the sleeper.” Hazrat Mahdi (as) will also not allow a drop of blood to be shed nor waken the sleeper. It is the way of the dajjal, not the Mahdi, that sheds blood. False mahdis may appear, but it is the dajjal who sheds blood. One of the distinguishing features of Hazrat Mahdi (as) is that he sheds no blood. Until when? Until he dies. Will Jesus the Messiah (as) shed blood? No. Until when? Until he dies. This is one of their signs. The fact is that they are radiant, strong, able, wise, peaceful and full of love. They will embrace Christians and Muslims and everyone. And they will strive for the happiness of them all. Christianity will end up as a true faith, insha’Allah, and since they become followers of Muhammad, they will also be true Christians, insha’Allah.

Success lies with the Mahdi. If someone secures Islamic Union, then by Allah’s leave, he is Hazrat Mahdi (as). But what is the real effect? It is the way of the Mahdi, Islamic Union. Who do we say is instrumental in it? That person, so by the law of Allah it is he. When we say the Christian world has become Muslim, the person who brings that about is Hazrat Mahdi (as).

All Muslims wish to see Hazrat Mahdi (as). They speak of Hazrat Mahdi (as) five times a day and wish to live to see Hazrat Mahdi (as). Do you see some religious teachers of the End Times? “May Allah forbid,” they say. “May Allah protect me from seeing Hazrat Mahdi (as) and the Prophet Jesus (as),” they say. “May Allah spare us those days, I do not wish to see them,” they say. They embrace neither the Prophet Jesus (as) nor Hazrat Mahdi (as). Others try to close the matter down by talking about a collective personality. Others say he is a spirit, an invisible entity, or that he has already come and gone. We are right in the End Times.

Some naïve people believe that Hazrat Mahdi (as) will work miracles. Not at all. Hazrat Mahdi (as) is not a prophet, so he cannot work miracles. Prophets perform miracles. And Hazrat Mahdi (as) has no such pretensions. And since he makes no such claims. There is no justification for him to work miracles or marvels. Do these people not read the hadiths of our Prophet (saas)? They are quite explicit. He makes no claim to be the Mahdi, and that proves it. When Islam rules the world, like it or not, that person is Hazrat Mahdi (as) by the law of Allah.

They say Hazrat Mahdi (as) may perhaps be known by the light of faith, when he first appears. How is Hazrat Mahdi (as) to be known? Through the light of faith. He can easily be known by a sharp attention, a lofty conscience and a sincere eye. Otherwise he cannot possibly be recognized.

He [Bediuzzaman] says the Mahdi (as) will appear in Istanbul. That is one thing. He says that Istanbul will be where disbelief is most intense. Not in Damascus or Medina, but Istanbul. And where was the last home of the sultanate? Istanbul. So he will come from Istanbul, insha’Allah. He says that Istanbul is a city where there will also be intense irreligion. He says that two ideas will clash in Istanbul, intellectually speaking. He says there will be the community of the Mahdi (as) and that of the dajjal. The Prophet Jesus (as) can be known through the light of faith. They say we cannot recognize him. But Bediüzzaman says we can recognize him in the presence of the light of faith. Bediüzzaman says he will not be known when he first appears. He says that the Prophet Jesus (as) and Hazrat Mahdi (as) will not know who they are to begin with. Very few people can recognize them through the light of faith. Not recognizing them is one thing, and pretending not to realize is another. The dajjal dominates schools and universities. The dajjal dominates many armies of the world. He will control many scientists. The followers of the Prophet Jesus (as) will be few in number. 

He says that people think they will be able to recognize Hazrat Mahdi (as) when he first appears since they imagine he will be able to do all things. He says he will not be known when he first appears. He also says the followers of Hazrat Mahdi (as) will number 313 and they will imagine he did everything himself.  The activity is performed by those 313 and himself, making 314. But in the hadiths our Prophet (saas) describes the deeds of those 313 as if Hazrat Mahdi (as) performs them. That is why they say we will know him when he first appears. “The door to reason will be open, but the need for free will never be taken away. So most people will not know the dajjal when he appears, and the dajjal will not even know himself” says Bediüzzaman.

(A Response to a Report in Greece Headed “If Only We Had an Erdoğan”)

They imagine it comes from Mr. Tayyip Erdoğan alone. It stems from the way of the Mahdi. Mr. Erdoğan is a normal guy from Anatolia. He knows that himself. The real cause is the way of the Mahdi. There is a special grace in Turkey. Allah protects it. That is the fact of the matter. Otherwise, even the richest countries in the world are heading for bankruptcy. They have geniuses working for them, but they are still collapsing. But ours is the prosperity of being a devout nation and the way of the Mahdi.

Hazrat Mahdi (as) will suffer very much. This will be a huge and intense suffering, not a normal suffering, but he will not let it show in any way. It is a sign of his sanctity.

He will be a very high-quality person. He will “maintain his purity.” He will be forbidden to leave the country he lives in. He will be unable to go to the lands of the prophets, to Mecca and Medina and Jerusalem.

 He has assumed our sufferings means that this blessed person will suffer in a way no normal person could bear. That is a special quality of Hazrat Mahdi (as), a secret attribute. People are unaware of it.

Allah will inflict difficulties on Hazrat Mahdi (as) as well as pain. He will inflict on him enough pain for thousands of people, but he will bear it easily, insha’Allah.

You will see that Allah will make people listen with His title of al-Jabbar. I say, “Hazrat Mahdi (as) has appeared, the Prophet Jesus (as) is at work and Islam will reign.” You will see that what I say is true in the next 10 years. But this will come out of pain and suffering. There will be greater sufferings. That will wake people up. They will see that the only solution is Turkish-Islamic Union. There will be a time of comfort and goodness, albeit a brief one. Things will happen in an amazing way.

The way of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) is currently being abundantly experienced in the End Times. But a great many people are unaware of it. Perhaps even Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) himself is unaware of it. Do you see Allah’s artistry and perfection in the test? Were there no test, there would be no beauty or anything left. Paradise would be meaningless and hell would be meaningless and life would be meaningless, something totally flat. We would literally be just like robots. Allah has created the most perfect state. There can be no other way. A test without pain is no test at all. How can there be a test without pain? The test has to include all kinds of pain.

They are very few in number but are of great respect before Allah, Majestic is Whose mention. They follow the leaders [Imams] of religion. … The statements of the leaders [the Imam (pbuh)] that are difficult to understand for others are soft and easy for them to understand. (Al-Kafi, H 887, Ch. 79, h 3)

Some people ignore the hadiths about Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh), but the followers of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) can easily accept them, it says.

It is necessary for the person in charge of this task [Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh)] to disappear from the public sight and in his disappearance from public sight he must remain away from public. How good is Tayba, the city of Madina, for dwelling and living with thirty people is not frightening isolation. (Al-Kafi, H 903, Ch. 80, h 16)

 He will definitely disappear or be imprisoned or else hide away of his own free will. He will act with 30 followers, it says. He will work on books, and perhaps on CDs. He will have a scholarly team of 30 people and will work in a house or somewhere like that, and the public will see him little, at first he will be seen very little, it says in the hadith. The place where he will withdraw to disappear from public sight is a most lovely one.A nice house, a nice place, a pleasant house, perhaps in a much admired house. And he has a fine group of 30 colleagues, a scholarly team, and his being with them means he is not alone, it says in the hadith.

 He will be admitted only by believers who swore devotion to Allah in the sphere beyond this world.

Before coming to this world we swore devotion to Allah in the sphere beyond this world. Before souls ever came to this world. They do not know, but instinctively follow Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) at Allah’s command. Many people can currently feel Hazrat Mahdi’s (pbuh) presence, but his followers immediately go and find him from the sphere beyond this world where they swore to Allah, and they do not leave him. They have sworn in the Presence of Allah.
